Honolulu Bum Patrol Extended City Cites ‘Good Results’

Good results so far at nine urban parks under the 24/7 security pilot project

Pilot project extended past January, 2019

News Release from City and County of Honolulu, December 13, 2018

Honolulu – Four weeks since Mayor Kirk Caldwell first announced a pilot project to provide 24/7 security at nine parks in urban Honolulu, the results so far are promising as all of the parks remain mostly clear of personal property and encampments. Based on the success of the past month Mayor Caldwell has directed the Department of Parks and Recreation to continue the pilot project into January 2019.

“The good news is that security in our parks is working,” said Mayor Caldwell. “We will continue to monitor the progress as the pilot project continues for another month, and if the results remain positive we will seek to secure additional funding in the upcoming operating budget to keep our parks open and available for park use for everyone.”    MORE HERE

  1. Too bad they weren’t around when the
choom gang bum known as Barry Seotero
hung out at these parks looking to score
drugs from an older homo dude…

  2. The homeless hunker down on the best real estate in Honolulu. We’ve walked past these encampments, and they’re right across from million dollar condos. You see tents every where, even under bridges and highway underpasses. No different here than there. I might have to book a cruise to Hawaii soon if the homeless situation has improved. However, I think they moved them away from the public eye. Okay with me.

  3. Geez, when I read the title I thought the story would be about Honolulu Wahine Okole patrol. That’s what attracted guys to the Honolulu parks when I lived there. Different kind of bums were the attraction 44 years ago.

  4. We need that in California and not just in San Franfreako. I take the train (Surfliner) once in a while from OC to the Central Coast. The scenery is marred by lots of what were once bum encampments right next to the tracks. Its really bad in Santa Barbara, America’s Riviera. I guess they were forced to leave, but they left their garbage behind. The piles of garbage are beyond belief. Those people live like rats. I haven’t seen that much trash since the last time I was in Mexico City.

The vile drugged-up creatures have gone somewhere else, but they will of course trash their new camps.

This is the gift the 60’s culture left us with.
