USA Today:
Hawaii’s forecast: Icy and dangerous conditions. No, really.
Forget the swimsuits for Hawaii and pack raincoats and winter parkas.
The National Weather Service issued a winter-storm warning until 6 p.m. Saturday local time, with heavy, flooding rainfall across the chain of Pacific islands and up to 30 inches of snow on the peaks of the Big Island.
Drifting snow, freezing fog and gusting wind are forecast for the summits of Mauna Keaand Mauna Loa volcanoes above 11,000 feet. Visibility could be less than a quarter-mile, making driving and hiking dangerous.
“A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow,” the weather service said early Friday local time. “This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.” read more
At 10 or 11,000 feet I don’t think being cold enough to snow is all that unusual in Hawaii. While it is doing that people will be surfing in the warm tropical ocean.
Paul Ehrlich was right (the FIRST time, not the second, third, fourth…).
Algore is throwing lamps across the room right now.
Can someone please explain to me why this is article is even on IOTW. It snows every frigging year in Hawaii. Its the altitude dumb asses.
See, this is one of the ironical phabulousnesses of Globaloney Warming!
It bees so hot, with all that heat being sucked into the bottom of the Indian Ocean, that Hawaii bees freezing on the mountain tops and stuff!
And … and … and … we’re all gonna die!
(unless you send Al Gore some money …)
izlamo delenda est …
The planet is stable. It’s the environMENTAL loonies that are not.
@ M R MICHAEL….it was posted because you read the article and you responded and participated…I’m for it of course….BAZINGA!….
What Ohio Dan said. This is normal weather.
Now if the forecast were to be snow at the shore, THAT would be news.
Either way, this still undercuts the EnviroNazis Glo-Bull-Ony about “Global Warming”. Or is it “Climate Change”? I can never keep them straight.
Isn’t Hawaii were Obama claims to have been born? So in other words it’s going to be a cold day in hell.
aleon, yer killin’ me!
