5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” –Matthew 28
And he took it, and did eat before them. And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all these things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behaved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day :- Luke 24 : 43 – 46
This is a beautiful song for a beautiful Easter day!

God of wonder beyond this galaxy, You are Holy, Holy.
FarmWife – Very nice! Thanks for sharing.

Happy Easter – for indeed, He is risen.
Hallelujah!
Another beautiful song by Keith and Kristyn Getty to celebrate this glorious day- “See What a Morning!” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18_PDY22Sck
Happy Resurrection Day to all!
Amen.
And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them. They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11
He is risen!
On Easter Morning I always remember the immortal words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer warning about “Cheap Grace.”
Dietrick Bonhoeffer wrote in “Life Together” that “Cheap grace means grace as a doctrine, a principle, a system…In such a Church the world finds a cheap covering for its sins; no contrition is required, still less any real desire to be delivered from sin. Cheap grace therefore amounts to a denial of the living Word of God, in fact, a denial of the Incarnation of the Word of God.”
Further he says, “Cheap grace means the justification of sin without the justification of the sinner. Grace alone does everything, they say, and so everything can remain as it was before…Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves…”
Bonhoeffer continues, “Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.”
Listen to how he describes the better way, that of what he calls costly grace: “Costly grace is the gospel which must be sought again and again, the gift which must be asked for, the door at which man must knock.
Such grace is costly because it calls us to follow, and it is grace because it calls us to follow Jesus Christ. It is costly because it costs a man his life, and it is grace because it gives a man the only true life. It is costly because it condemns sin, and grace because it justifies the sinner…”
How many churches and Christians are looking for that sense of cheap grace that’s out there this Easter? How many churches or Christians are looking for (and accepting) cheap formulas for their faith and belief?
Seek out a relationship with Christ, come to know the Risen Christ and what He has done for you…and learn to reflect His Love and message of Hope eternal.
People, not only unbelievers, often ask “Where is God? If He exists and if He is as holy as the Bible says He is, then why does He allow this world to go on the way it does, getting worse all the time?”
The answer is actually very simple, and asking the question betrays ignorance of the Bible rightly divided:
God is not striking down evil today because we are living during the dispensation of the Grace of God, under which the preeminent message preached is SUPPOSED to be (but usually isn’t) Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery (Ephesians 3:1,2; Romans 16:25). How many of you have ever heard Christ preached according to the revealed secret? Few if any, I’ll bet.
Part of that revelation is the fact that God, for now, has placed the entire world under grace, not imputing their sins to them…for now.
Because the whole world is now under grace — the forbearance of wrath — God is showering that grace upon all. He is not opening the ground beneath the feet beneath blasphemers, child murderers, plotters of mass death.
Why not?
Because ALL have sinned and fall short of His glory.
So what? you may ask. I’m not as bad as many of THEM are!
Maybe not…humanly speaking. But look at it this way:
For God to step into the world actively to punish evil, He would do so not according to OUR standards of evil and good, but according to His. And His are perfect, righteous and severe beyond our capacity to fully understand; nothing like it has ever existed in any purely human system of government.
So if He were to punish SOME, rest assured that He would have to punish ALL who He finds to be evil, for God is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11-12).
In that case, who could stand? Very, very few…the only ones who could are those who stand with absolutely no merit of their own but who are truly in Christ, for whom He is their sole righteousness before God.
That is why God is not speaking or acting in the world today as He once did…because of grace. So think of this as the quiet before the storm. Think of it as the door of the ark wide open even as the storm clouds begin to gather. Because when He next speaks to the world — and He will — it will be in undiluted WRATH.
Are you ready?
Well said, Hans.
As we rejoice in His glorious resurrection, we must not forget the footsteps and path he walked that we are called to follow.
Hans,
“Further [Bonhoeffer] says…’Grace alone does everything, they say, and so everything can remain as it was before…'”
The apostle Paul teaches that God’s grace indeed does everything.
Forgiveness of sins is by grace.
Justification from sin is by grace.
The believer’s sanctification in Christ is by grace.
The believer’s walk in the Spirit is by grace.
All through faith, without works, by grace.
And because of that grace, NOTHING remains as it was before because the believer is counted by God as having DIED with Christ and is raised to newness of life in Him. “Behold…a new creation.” All old things passed away, all things have become new, in Christ.
Not sure who exactly Bonhoeffer was talking about there, but Paul taught what he was given by Christ to teach.
Pardon my sharing but this was just emailed by a teacher I respect, Justin Johnson of Grace Ambassadors.

“DON’T HIDE THE CROSS BEHIND HOLY WEEK”
Every year Christians are told to take a week off from preaching the cross to reenact events that happened before anyone understood it. They call this week Holy Week.
You are told to identify with the Kingdom palm waving crowd on Palm Sunday, but were not many of those same people the ones who consented to His death later in the week?
On Holy Monday and Tuesday, you are told to place yourself in the sandals of the disciples listening to Jesus’ ministry to the circumcision (Rom 15:8), but the disciples did not understand the cross (Luke 18:34) and were afraid to ask Him about it (Luke 9:45).
On Spy Wednesday, many participate in processions reenacting the events of Judas’ betrayal by wearing capirotes and carrying around religious statues and icons, but why would we want to reenact that dark night of His betrayal?
Even though Christians are called children of light and ought not hide the gospel (2 Cor 4:3-4), Maundy Thursday is the beginning of three holy days of darkness called Tenebrae where the Eucharist is hidden under a blanket, crosses and Bibles are hidden in churches, and God’s love expressed in the cross is hidden behind the ritual of foot washing and symbolic candles.
You are told that Good Friday is the day for sorrowful reflection, fasting, and mourning over the death of Jesus, but isn’t that contrary to glorying in the cross as Paul does (Gal 6:14)? Perhaps reflection ought to be spent on how three days fit between Friday and the end of Black Saturday.
Holy Week ends with Sunday sunrise services talking about the climax of the empty tomb and resurrection putting an end to the darkness of the week before…that is, until next year.
Children often ask the important question the apostles asked as well, “why did Jesus have to die?” But Holy Week is over and resurrection is the end. There is no explanation from the traditionalists except that is what happened according to Scripture.
Two thousand years ago NO ONE understood the good news of the cross at any time during that week (John 20:8-9; Luke 18:33-34), but that doesn’t stop religious persons from telling you to follow Jesus through Holy Week, which comes and goes leaving more questions than answers.
The reason why is found in the the revealed mystery [secret], the gospel [good news] of the grace of God, given by the resurrected Lord when he returned after the Easter pageants end and shined light through the apostle Paul for you and me to understand His will.
“Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel” – 2 Timothy 2:8
Every year people forget what this scripture says.
The annual religious recreation of a week of ignorance of the cross, darkness, and sorrowful mourning has worked to undermine the grace ministry of understanding, light, and rejoicing in the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The good news of the grace of God does not end with the death and resurrection, IT BEGINS THERE. Our gospel of Christ should never be hid in darkness, behind symbols, or expressed in religious rituals.
Never take a week off from preaching the glory of the cross, not even for religious holy days.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; BUT UNTO US WHICH ARE SAVED IT IS THE POWER OF GOD.” – 1 Corinthians 1:18
Amen!
Thank God for Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection.
“Because He lives we can face tomorrow.”
Happy Easter!
@Grool and Hans:
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 1 Corinthians 13:13
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26
God bless America
God bless iotw report reader and God take care of the enemy in the USA that want to destroy Israel and the USA.
Tony,
James wasn’t writing to you or me when he wrote that.
“James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, TO THE TWELVE TRIBES WHICH ARE SCATTERED ABROAD, greeting.”
We are not the twelve tribes scattered abroad.
Paul is your and my apostle, chosen by Christ. If we want to know what God wants us to believe and do today, we have to go to Paul.
As for faith, hope and charity, Paul was speaking to and about saved people. All three may look nice but they are eternally meaningless if faith-filled, hopeful and charitable persons are believing a false gospel that is sending them to Hell.
Halleluyah!!!
Let me preface this post with the context of my heart. I struggle much when making such posts, with fear and trembling, that I lead not others to ruin. I ask myself continually, why would an ignorant hillbilly such as myself have understanding when others far more learned than myself, seem to have the answers. Then it is brought to my rememberance that even the most beloved men of YHWH in the Holy Scriptures (“Old Testament” of the 1st Century) fall into sin and are redeemed by Grace through Faith. How the Pharasies and Saduccees of the 1st Century had corrupted that which is so self evident (hindsight) by relying on the word and traditions of men. How much greater have our teachings become corrupted as we speed towards the 2nd Coming of our Lord.
I try to rely on my Saviour to guide my footsteps, not moving to the left or the right, letting Scripture interpret Scripture. Here is where I currently stand on this specific thought.
Truly, Yeshua (Jesus) is risen. Praise YHWH (the LORD).
The above is the most important take away for this Gracious blessing and fulfillment of the Word of El-Shaddai (God Almighty). Yeshuah fulfilled every prophetic passage, Moed (Convocation/Appointed Time/Feast) of YHWH and promises given in relation to His First Advent. Doing so literally and exactly.
This includes the ONLY sign given to the “wicked and adulterous generation” for His Messiahship, 3 days & 3 nights.
If you think that as we QUICKLY approach the 2nd Advent, that our “religious” leaders have not given way to the traditions of men instead of following the Word of Elohim, I tell you that there is nothing new under the sun.
Satan has created these fables through various outlets, causing much confusion of which he is the author. How many denominations, sects and even cults have been born of the serpent? Dividing us with whisperings in our itching ears which causes envy, covetessness, greed and pride leading to believing heresies, even damnable heresies.
(Ecc 1:9) That which has been is that which shall be; and that which has been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
(Jude 1:4) For there are certain men who crept in secretly, even those who were long ago written about for this condemnation: ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into indecency, and denying our only Master, God, and Lord, Yeshua the Messiah.
(2 Tim 3:1-5) But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also.
(2 Tim 4:3-4) For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables.
There was a “High Sabbath” during the “Passion” week and it seems that it would be Thu (Wed sundown until Thu sundown) with 1 day between it and the weekly Sabbath. This allows for the women that follow Yeshua to purchase and prepare the spices with out a contradiction in the scriptutres.
(John 19:31) The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the stake on the sabbath day (for that sabbath day was a high day) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken and [that] they might be taken away.
(Mark 16:1) When the Sabbath was past, Miriam Magdalene, and Miriam the mother of Jacob, and Shalom, bought spices, that they might come and anoint him.
(Luke 23:56) They returned, and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
I pray that this may plant seeds in that you might search scriptures to test my witnessing.
Shalom Aleichem (Peace be unto you)

I know I am kind of late on this, but my post from yesterday never showed up and kept telling me I was adding a duplicate when I would try to repost.
