Here’s a change that progressives should consider – DEATH

Progressives are just silly malcontents that want “change” for the sake of change.

Males are males and females are females? Nuh uh. You are whatever you want to be.

The weather is the weather? Nuh uh. The weather is messed up because now they want to be able to change it.

The combustion engine? Nuh uh. Pedaling is the future.

The constitution? Nope. Needs changing.

Math? Pfffffft. We have a new way of figuring out 325 – 38.

Seriously? Are they not bored with life? Death seems like the logical change, no? I’ll gladly assist them.

  1. This crap burns me up.

“Work smarter, not harder” went out the window a long time ago and has been replaced with Rainbows and Unicorns.

…….because diversity, tolerance, and Bush is a racist.

  2. The foreign college student and I think this math method is FABULOUS.

In the time an American student needs to do this simple math problem,
we could have it done, graduate from school and start a business.

  3. A populace full of the ignorant is the ideal environment for central planners or anyone else who wishes to hold power and control over people. The best way to ensure this environment thrives is to make sure science and mathematics concepts are so inscrutable that no young person would dare choose a career or field of study that would require them. As a further measure, punish those who claim that there are simpler ways to perform these calculations.

Kill the thought process in schools, and you won’t have to worry about it interfering with your re-election bid later.

  4. Been dealing with these worksheets every day since school started. Spent the last three weeks estimating three digit numbers to subtract and add. My third grader who can do the actual subtraction and addition in his head like most kids at this age, thinks the teacher must be brain damaged to make them do it this way but unlike most kids has not been afraid to express that in class.

Please kill me before parent teacher conferences next week, please.

PS before you say anything this is not a government school but they could not find non-common core work books that met the Indiana Standards. Thanks Governor Pence!

  5. Yes, it’s nuts. But this kind of clipped excerpt neither identifies the guilty nor gives parents a way to defend against it. We need to know THE NAME OF THE MATH PROGRAM, the GRADE LEVEL, and the NAME OF THE PUBLISHER.

  6. I actually went into a Starbucks a couple weeks ago, because Dunkin raised their prices. I wanted to see how much Starbucks charged.

Long story short. I gave the girl (lady anout my age, wtf?) a $10 and she entered $20 into the register.

Shut the whole place down, even though I suggested just subtract $10 from $17.47 clearly on the register and just give me back $7.47.

In the end I walked out with a free coffee because they didn’t have any bold and dicked around trying to learn math.

  7. Just look at the inverted logic of these sick bastard retrogrades and Luddites who self identify as “progressive.” They have made it abundantly clear that they have no business anywhere near any child, much more educating children in mathematics.

I subtracted 25 from 38 to get 13 and then 13 from 300 in my head and had the answer in less than a half second.

  8. 1) Borrow 10 from 20.

    2) 15 – 8 = 7.

    3) Borrow 100 from 300.

    4) 11 – 3 = 9.

Why do we have to do in five steps what we can do in four?

Also, I can’t wait to see the effed-up methodology they have to use to get the sum of 2, 60, 200, and 25.

  9. @Free Man:

A couple of decades ago, educators had their knickers in a twist because children were becoming overreliant on calculators and were not learning basic math skills.

If they is how they’re teaching basic math skills now, I’d be perfectly fine with leaving the children to their calculators.
