TruckersReport: The catastrophic flooding in Louisiana has displaced hundreds of thousands of people and according to the American Red Cross is the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy. As those who are fleeing their homes get stuck on flooded highways though, truckers are living up to the title of Knights of the Road.
With packed highways full of people ill-prepared to wait until help arrives, it fell on truckers to keep people safe and in somewhat good spirits. Stories are popping up all over social media of truckers who lended a helping hand to families who have lost everything.
