DougRoss: Cheryl D. Mills, long-time friend and confidant of Bill and Hillary Clinton, is promoting a 23 cents-an-hour wage in the West African nation of Ghana to lure textile and apparel industry companies to invest there even as the former secretary of state advocates a $15-an-hour “livable wage” here.

Mills’ newly formed firm, the BlackIvy Group, LLC., makes the pitch with a powerpoint presentation that was obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Critics interviewed by TheDCNF charged that the presentation promotes “slave labor” and “slave wages.”

  1. from a purely capitalist industrial aspect it’s a fantastic idea.

China/Hong Kong is becoming too expensive, Vietnam is the new China. Mexico is also too expensive.

Textiles likely is simple and lo-tech enough to work in a place like that.

23c per hour is fantastic. Look for the “made in Ghana” clothing label to start showing up in Wal-Mart within a quarter or 2.

Also no reported cases of Ebola in Ghana, per Google!

    ;-p
