ST. LOUIS (AP) — The nation’s homeless are proving to be especially susceptible to a new, dirt-cheap version of synthetic marijuana, which leaves users glassy-eyed, aimless, sprawled on streets and sidewalks oblivious to their surroundings or wandering into traffic.
Nearly 300 homeless people became ill last month in St. Louis due to the man-made hallucinogen that experts believe is far more dangerous and unpredictable than the real thing. Other outbreaks have occurred in New York City, Los Angeles and Austin, Texas.
“It was common for us to see reactions where they were violent, incoherent, sometimes catatonic on the ground,” Austin police Lt. Kurt Thomas said.
The homeless are easy targets in a confined area, experts say. The drug is cheap – as little as $1 or $2 for a joint – more difficult to detect in drug tests and is a fast escape from a harsh reality. more

Calling this synthetic drug, marijuana, is a bit of a stretch. I’ve never seen anyone on actual real marijuana be violent, incoherent, sometimes catatonic on the ground.

Sounds good, but think of all of the productive people stopped from going to work by having their autos wrecked by Teh Zombies. And their raised insurance rates by something not their fault.
Maybe point them to the nearest muzzie enclave or south-of-the-border illegal alien barrio.

Dang, drop the taxes on cigarettes so cigs cost less than pot. Everyone would have less of an excuse to smoke pot or synthetics. We’d also have fewer people on anti-depressants.
Don’t know what is being pushed now to get peeps off nicotine, but docs sure pushed the anti-depressants about ten years ago. Their argument was that peeps self medicated with nicotine. Meaning: how dare you, only WE should keep peeps narced up.
If they die from smoking it, then they won’t be homeless any longer.
Make them an offer they can’t refuse: Free sterilization, free pot, and forfeit voting rights forever.
