Hong Kong is sick of China

Breitbart:

New Year’s Day brought thousands of demonstrators to the streets of Hong Kong to denounce China’s oppressive policies and to demand respect for human rights and the rule of law.

“Looking back at the year that passed, it was a very bad year,” said protest organizer Jimmy Sham. “The rule of law in Hong Kong is falling backward.”

Estimates for the size of the demonstration ranged from 3,200 to 5,500 people. Even the higher estimate would be only half the size of last year’s annual demonstration.  MORE HERE

  1. Hong Kong was a very successful entity until England released it back to China, who made promises to allow things to remain the same. England stupidly believed them.

  2. China is having bad economic problems
and has created a cult of personality
around Xi. HK is a cash cow that
the commies (who really are practicing police state enforced, industrial feudalism) are too stupid to leave alone.

In 1841, China ceded Hong Kong to the British, and in 1842 the Treaty of Nanking was signed, formally ending the First Opium War. In 1898, Britain was granted an additional 99 years of rule over Hong Kong under the Second Convention of Peking. That period ended in 1997, at which time the British were in no position to hold on to Hong Kong against Chinese wishes, having lost their empire.

In other words, time was up for the Brits.
