DailyMailUK: The acting world is in mourning with the passing of actress Sally Kellerman, at 84 years of age.
The actress who portrayed the original Margaret ‘Hot Lips’ Houlihan in Robert Altman’s 1970 movie M*A*S*H, passed after a long battle with dementia, her son Jack Krane confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
She passed at an assisted care facility in Woodland Hills, California, after an iconic career that spanned over 150 movies and TV shows. more
That’s Loretta Swit, not Sally Kellerman.
BEST/FUNNIEST SHOWER SCENE EVER!!
RIP, HOT LIPS, THX FOR THE GOOD MOVIE MOMENTS
That’s too bad. Especially with Loretta Swits picture heading the article.
I always thought Sally Kellerman (in the movie) was kinda cute. Loretta Swit (TV show), not so much (but she made a good Miss Piggy).
Ok, so who died?
I was looking at her IMDB profile. I didn’t realize it but she was in just about every TV show of my youth; Doobie Gillis, My 3 Sons, Star Trek, I Spy, The Twilight Zone, 12 Oclock High.
Yes, she had a sultry aura about her.
That’s too bad.
Dementia is a tough one.
Whiskeycart – Loretta Swit’s picture is on the first page here. But Sally Kellerman died. Loretta Swit is still living.
The series went on for far too many seasons. Alan Alda was way too likable for Hawkeye compared to Donald Southerland. Klinger bit was overdone. Today, Klinger would be considered normal and the surgeons would have done the surgical mutulation.
One of my favorite interchanges in the movie was when Hot Lips questioned how a degenerate like Hawkeye got into the Army and the priest replied, “He was drafted.”
Kellerman wasn’t gorgeous but she was sexy – even opposite Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School.
Loretta Swit was great in Mash in it’s early days. But when she dyed her hair platinum gray and cut it to look like she was wearing a helmet all the time, her humor died out with the show as it descended into being a half hour of mauldlin.
Thought she was sexy in Back to School, with Rodney Dangerfield.
Hot Lips Houlihan redeemed herself after Major Frank Burns gave her the sobriquet of “Hot Lips” during that memorable moment of coitus interruptus, when she took up with Captain Augustus Bedford “Duke” Forrest. Best shower scene in a Korean War movie ever!
Godspeed, Sally Kellerman.
I always thought she had a sexy voice.
The “He was drafted” scene.

“Back To School”, When Rodney Dangerfield cried out “Yes, Yes”!!! during the poetry reading. I couldn’t have agreed more! Sally Kellerman was incredibly sexy in that role. She wasn’t beautiful, but she certainly had an aura about her.
Sally Kellerman … that sideways look, that grin, that smile … those HOT LIPS!!!
& M.A.S.H. wasn’t a Korean War movie … make no mistake, it was a ‘Nam movie

The joke was that Klinger was only wearing women’s clothing to PRETEND to be insane in order to get a medical discharge. He wasn’t actually insane, he wasn’t gay, and he didn’t think he was female. He was just a regular guy going to extremes to try and get himself out of a bad situation. He certainly wasn’t trying to get his junk whacked off.
A character trying that today would be forced into sensitivity training and/or court-martialed for for commiting a hate crime against transsexuals.
So Sally Kellerman dies at 84 from
Dementia, but Joe Biden is 80 with dementia, and is allowed to live and occupy the White House. Life is so unfair.
Now I feel really old.
Maybe Sally Kellerman is lucky in the sense that God took her before things get any worse.
Loved the movie. Saw it in Korea in 1970/71. Everything was still the same then.
Could not stand the smug Alan Alda in the dreadful TV show.
Sally played some fine rolls.
