Anti-Stinkites!
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A proposal to allow skunks to be kept as pets in Tennessee has fallen short in the state House amid concerns about spreading rabies.
The bill sponsored by Republican Rep. Jeremy Faison of Cosby received 44 votes on Monday. Bills need a constitutional majority of 50 votes to pass the chamber. more
DAMMIT!
Just. Dammit.
Aww, that stinks!
well, there goes my idea of having a Skunk Petting Zoo in Tennessee
….damn Rebels!
Tennessee gubmint stinks.
Odd they’d be outlawed. Growing up in OK back in the 60’s, skunks raised liters under the house a couple of times before we found their access point.
My older brothers caught ’em, got the scent glands removed and sold ’em as pets.
Read the story and somethin don’t smell right
Oh for pete’s sake. A gerbil can be rabid.
Don’t tell Gere that gerbil can be rabid!!
During the 1920’s my dad raised a skunk from a little kit until it died at the ripe old age of 17. He removed the scent glands himself. He said it was a great pet, with a temperament somewhere in between that of a dog and a cat.
They’re very tame ‘wild’ animals.
I wonder when DC is going to outlaw Obuttholes face fly pets?
Had a friend with a pet skunk. She was adorable.
Just like Jethro said, kind of like a cross between a cat and dog. Very playful.
MJA, that picture just made me squeeeeeeee!
How about a bill to keep skunks out of politics.
The picture had me squee too. Adorable. Almost artistically posed.
I’ll refrain from sharing my professional reality with them to help preserve that.
