Down Trend: In the latest development in the Colin Kaepernick carnival, the Houston Texans just moved to defuse the racial time bomb that NBC analyst Tony Dungy set up with a nationally televised call to sign the toxic unemployed quarterback.
During the pregame prior to the Sunday game between Oakland and Miami, Saint Dungy urged the Texans to sign the prophet to replace injured rookie star DeShaun Watson:
“Sign Colin Kaepernick,” Dungy said. “You don’t have good quarterback play. When you have a mobile quarterback, your offense looks different. There is a mobile quarterback out there to get.”
The Texans took half of Dungy’s advice by bringing in Josh Johnson who is a “mobile quarterback” although he hasn’t seen the football field since 2011 when he was a backup for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hey, at least he’s black and isn’t that the point with Kaepernick? read more
Colin could get a job as a really efficient Q-tip.
1. Kapernick opted out of his own contract ( I think $14 Mil) to gamble on free agency; he probably priced himself out of market. 2. When Kapernick was starting for 49ers, they went either 1- or 0- on the season, a loser. 3. signing Kapernik will not stop the “kneeling”, that’s not why these clowns are kneeling. 4. So, who wants a toxic, loser overpriced back-up QB in their locker room?
They know their attendance would immediately decrease by 50%. It’s TEXAS for God’s sakes!
I just couldn’t see signing a player like Kap to my team, in a sport where the team has to function so closely. Maybe in baseball. But I see him as toxic to any team’s morale – not so much because of the ‘statements’ he made but because of the perceived self-importance he betrays.
That ‘fro’s a wig; Colin’s an A-Rab.
Sure he’s African-American; Egypt and Libya are in Africa.
Somebody Photoshop a Saudi towel on Colin’s head, please.
There’s a few QB’s up here in Canada that would fit quite well into a run and shoot type of offense. In any event the signing of Johnson must be driving Kapernick and his girlfriend around the bend. I wonder how long it’s going to be before she drops him? I’d say no more then the end of January. It will take about 6 minutes after that phone call (or email) that he’ll realize he was used for political and entertainment purposes and what ever was left of his career went out the wondow when he met that spider.
Tony Dungee has new initials. he is now Tony A. H. Dungee. Rather than trying to gloss over the situation, he drove a steak into Goodell’s heart!
Screw Dungy. Couldn’t coach.
Peyton Manning saved the Colts
Reminds me of –
Latrell Fontaine Sprewell (born September 8, 1970) is an American former professional basketball player; he played for the Golden State Warriors, the New York Knicks, and the Minnesota Timberwolves. During his time as a professional, Sprewell was named to the yearly NBA All-Star game four times; he also helped the Knicks reach the NBA Finals and the Timberwolves the Western Conference finals. Despite his accomplishments, his career was overshadowed by a 1997 incident in which he choked coach P. J. Carlesimo during a practice, which ultimately resulted in a 68-game suspension.
Sprewell’s career came to an unexpected end in 2005 when he refused a $21-million three-year contract offer from the Timberwolves, which Sprewell implied would not be enough to feed his children. The Timberwolves offered him nothing more. Since that time, he has made headlines for grounding his million-dollar yacht and subsequently having it repossessed for missed payments, having two of his homes foreclosed upon, and being prohibited from seeing his children.[1]
Hmmmm. Now that’s funny. His girl friend probably is looking for a new sugar daddy. Can’t fund mosques, terrorists, and goat humpers with no paycheck. Sucka!
I used to be impressed with Dungy.
Then he opened his mouth after retiring as a coach.
That makes my day.
Mr. Bob McNair, the Houston Texans owner, is no fool. He knows the attendance hit he would take by signing CK. Mr. McNair is a decent man, personable and easy to talk too on the sidelines of Reliant/NRG stadium. He is acutely aware of what his fans want and they don’t want anyone or anything like Colin.
Watson, the new rookie quarterback, went out for the year with a torn ACL after starting an amazing season. His backup, Tom Savage, is not performing well at all. Pathetic might be more descriptive. I haven’t seen any of these guys play so I don’t know what Rick Smith, the general manager, picked up. Obrien, the head coach, is no dummy so given a little time he will sort it all out. The remainder of the season should be interesting especially with the injuries suffer by JJ Watt and Whitney Mercilus on the defensive side.
The Texans have not taken a knee with the exception of one week when they protested Mr. McNairs statement of not allowing the inmates to run the prison. The instigator of this protest was promptly traded off within hours.
I use to like Tony Dungy, that’s over with. Now he’s just dung.
Easy peasy: Tony Dungy buys an NFL team and then hires any player he chooses.
One of the best things I’ve heard all week! Haven’t seen that anywhere else but here.
