On a related topic, I was doing some online Christmas shopping for the young-uns in the family and thought I’d get a few of my favorite books from my childhood. Well, most are still available… but the new editions are all paperback and the illustrations have changed from really nice pen & ink drawings to bad full color cartoon images. I happen to think that quality illustrations are just as formative as good children’s literature and am horrified that the stories have been divorced from the pictures I loved. So, I bought the old editions on ebay and am hereby establishing Granny Annie’s Library for Aspiring Authors & Artists.
