Some wealthy Italians are being accused of participating in “human safaris” during the war between former Yugoslav countries. However, members of the British forces who served in Sarajevo in the 1990s have told the BBC that they never heard of any so-called “sniper tourism” during the Bosnian conflict.

This does not surprise me. I would wager to say that most people in this country have no clue of life outside the United States and do not appreciate what they have and won’t until it’s gone.
In much, if not most, of the world, life is cheap. 40 years ago I worked in Brazil and Mexico and saw a LOT! People living in garbage dumps and dead people along side the road etc. Since then my travels have only opened my eyes even more.

This may be true or not, but in the early 1990’s when there were a lot of Somali pirates in the Red Sea, the rich Russians would travel there with gunboats and AK 47’s. The Russians would never start the fight, but they certainly took out a lot of pirates. Very soon thereafter, the threat of Somali pirates diminished dramatically!
