BIG GOV/ Hundreds of strangers gathered at a church in Indianapolis, Indiana, Saturday to honor a Vietnam veteran with no known living relatives.
Glenn Shelton, 68, who had a storied career with the Marines during the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart while serving with them, died November 26, according to his obituary.
Indiana Funeral Care organized Saturday’s service and advertised it on social media. The event grew so popular the organizers had to move the ceremony to a larger venue.
“We don’t know anything about him, so it’s just rewarding that they can still find time to come out and pay their respects,” Sara Thompson, Indiana Funeral Care General Manager, told WXIN. “Glenn might have been abandoned in life, but he will not be abandoned in death.” READ MORE
Rest well Mr. Shelton. Godspeed
Pulling final duty in Heaven. “…Whose streets are guarded by United States Marines.”
Too bad he couldn’t have been so honored when he was around to see it.
* hand salute *
And a Syrian muzzie gets a free ride for ever
NUTS!
Vietvet, I think he saw it.
This is the America, I miss.
Salute!
Damned dust and allergies. Just got blurry here. Semper Fi! Marine. Semper Fi! MAKE WAY, ALL YOU ANGELS, MAKE WAY, A MARINE IS IN YOUR MIDST!
💥 (With all my heart) AMERICA: SCREW YOU! 💥
💥There are TONS of veterans who need your help that are NOT disabled, NOT WWII 90 year olds, and NOT deranged homeless people, or forgotten Vietnam Vets.
💥I personally know 3 out of 3 friends I still keep in touch with from the military and ALL THREE are down on their luck. One guy probably can’t work again due to PTSD, and the others have financial difficulties from college and bad marriages WAY under employed. Guy has an engineering degree, but no jobs in the area, he works at a RETAIL STORE!
💥WHO GIVES A FLYING RAT’S ASS ABOUT THEM? No one. I don’t see people lined up outside of churches begging to help, donating money, used cars, groceries for their kids, or anything.
💥Excuse me, but kindly blow it out your damn ass with this stuff.
GO TO THE V.F.W. / VETERANS ADMIN. OFFICE / AMERICAN LEGION and ask if there are vets in need. You’ll find plenty of what you’re looking for.
“Too bad he couldn’t have been so honored when he was around to see it.”
Agreed.
RIP My friend.
