  1. Note to GOP Reps and Senators and Governors in NC and SC: When the media and the Dems are screaming “Trump’s Katrina”, how about you not pile on? In fact, how about you stand by Trump?

And note to the media: Trump already dealt with a hurricane successfully. I know you’ve forgotten, but we haven’t.

  2. Get an app called “Raindar” for your Android. I don’t think there is an Apple equivalent. It was created years ago, no ads, no tracking, just downloads radar data from Weather Underground. It lost Storm tracks a couple of years ago, but it still gives you what’s coming NOW, no delays or gaps. Once used it to beat a thunderstorm on the Potomac, just made it. Invaluable tool that used to be even better.

We’re out of the “cone of uncertainty” for now… Good luck to every East Coastie in the path of this.

  3. Knowing a storm like this will be affecting your life days before it arrives is a very strange thing to experience. Everything seems to happen in slow motion. Having been through the flooding of Hurricane Harvey and only recently completing the repairs to my home, I can’t begin to explain how it changes you. I was insured for wind damage but not for flooding. I am on the hook for about $140,000 to repair and replace what I lost and I got only thirteen inches in my home. Most people around me got from three to eight feet of water in their homes so I’m more fortunate than they are. Many of them can’t weather the financial burden placed on them and the difficulty of seeing my neighbors going through that has been the hardest thing I’ve had to deal with. I wish the best for the good people of North Carolina and pray for them to have the strength to persevere.
