On his podcast this week, the Bills safety discussed where he might go in free agency.
“I would love to go to a state that doesn’t take half my money,” he said. “It’s crazy to me how taxes work. Some people will say, ‘You’re already making X amount of money.’ Taxes play a big part in all of our lives.”
Poyer signed a four-year, $13 million deal with the Bills in 2017. He signed a 2-year extension in 2021 worth $19.5 million.
In New York, folks in his tax bracket pay $450,500 annually plus 10.3 percent of the amount over $5 million in state income tax.

It’s bad enough they take your money but then to have to watch the foolishness with how they spend it and ask for more is offensive as hell.
For the first time they taxed part of my SSI! WTF!?
The wife and I didn’t show shit for income and they take more. SSI, a couple of part time jobs (to keep us from killing each other being together 24/7) and a VERY small pension, pennies in dividends and interest and they’re taxing our SSI this year for the first time. There’s no place to hide and no longer a schedule C to help myself.
May karma cometh to all the governmental employees who are complicit in screwing us up the ass without even letting get our shorts down.
