ICE To Execute Biggest Immigration Enforcement Op Of Trump’s Presidency

DAILY CALLER: U.S. immigration agents are planning to detain and deport more than 1,500 illegal immigrants in a massive California operation meant to send a clear message to the so-called sanctuary state, the Houston Chronicle reported Wednesday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials declined to comment on the specifics of the operation Tuesday, but it reportedly planned to take place within the next few weeks, the Chronicle reported. California officially became a “sanctuary state” at the beginning of January, meaning state and local law enforcement are prohibited in most cases from working with federal agents to deport illegal immigrants.

ICE officers will be flown into California from across the country to carry out the operation, which will target areas where illegal immigrants are being illegally employed, an unnamed ICE source told the Chronicle. The operation would be the largest enforcement action of President Donald Trump’s time in office if it does indeed capture more than 1,500 illegal immigrants.

In response to a request for comment from The Daily Caller News Foundation, an ICE spokesman said “We are not able to speculate about future enforcement actions.”  READ MORE

  1. These raids are a start however many more are needed. The issue of declaring the state a sanctuary for illegals by the governor and state congress is not going to go away. These gentlemen swore an oath to uphold the laws of the land. They have blatantly ignored existing statues while openly stating they will assist and fund illegal immigration.
I’m not a lawyer but the actions of CA’s leaders is criminal and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, not just some PP whacking but some real convictions doing real time. Until Sessions finds a cure for his cranial rectitus this will continue to fester and grow into a real problem.
The influx of immigrants has already affected numerous elections and as the GOP has written CA off years ago they don’t see the need to act. Cancer left untreated spreads guys. Liberalism is a cancer too.
Failure to act, and act now, is an admission of the defeat of our basic values.

  2. From the linked article, regarding a letter sent to HS by CA legislators: “Acting Director Homan’s attack on sanctuary cities is not only an infringement of state rights but a direct assault on communities of color.”

First off the “color”(s) they are talking about are red, white and green. The Mexican flag. Second, the gov’t leadership of CA are criminals and should all be in jail. They are not protecting the interests or security of the American citizens they purport to represent. And those who elected them are not Americans even if they were born here. They are the Left.

  3. @BENITO — POTUS Trump is deploying a multi-pronged offensive. He’s rousing the real Americans in CA to action and he’s conducting a show of force with the raids. Can you believe it?! A president who can walk and chew gun at the same time. And he knows how to throw a baseball, too!

  4. Geez… if successful, CA will lose at least 4 congressional House seats!

Too close to the truth. Watch out for Arkancide.

Trump’s 2020 Census May Cost California Congressional Seat by Counting Citizens
    http://www.breitbart.com/california/2018/01/17/california-to-lose-congressional-seat-if-census-questions-citizenship/
The Obama administration discontinued the 1970-2000 “long form” questionnaire that asked citizenship questions. Democrats claim that it was appropriately replaced by the American Community Survey (ACS). But the Justice Department stresses that ACS is a “samples survey that is sent to only around one in every thirty-eight households each year.”

Democrats understand that the revised 2010 U.S. Census questionnaire, which did not ask about interviewee’s citizenship under the penalty of perjury, encouraged many of California’s approximately 2.35 million illegal aliens and 1.65 million legal aliens to participate improperly in the U.S. Census.

The resulting 2010 U.S. Census data over-count of supposedly “voting age citizens” appears to have qualified California for at least one extra Congressional seat, and likely served as the basis for billions of dollars of extra federal funding for the Golden State that should have been more fairly distributed to other states.

Breitbart News reported that California is ranked as the #1 recipient for total U.S. federal spending, with $343.7 billion in receipts in 2013. That was over $109 billion more than #2 Texas, at $234 billion. For every dollar that California residents paid in federal taxes, the state received $1.18 in federal spending.

    > Stick it to the employers

If, and ONLY if, the employers are “non”-government organizations. When you pay an apparatchik to create a new bureau for you to rule (and skim, there’s ALWAYS got to be a skim), you’ve agreed to be ruled by The Party. Corporations, partnerships (other than undocumented, “general”), trusts, churches, anything and everything that exists because The Party says it exists, should be subject to The Party’s whims (and skims, there’s ALWAYS got to be skims).

But private entities? “Self”-employed, partnerships (de jure, because de facto), everyone who didn’t sign up to be a Party apparatchik? What do they owe The Party? Beyond not getting in the way? Oh, and Loyalty™! Always Loyalty, Commissar!

HOW DOES THIS JIVE WITH TRUMP SUGGESTING HE WILL REMOVE ICE FROM CA???
    —————————

It’s Trump’s way of sticking them in the ass. Say one thing and do another. He’s actually doing California a favor, there’s no room in the jails or prisons, so back they go to Mexico. The jobs these illegals held can now be done by the welfare slugs. Work or no subsidy. I like that approach. Furthermore they aren’t using our resources like water. We need rain!

    > Actually pulling ICE out of CA may be unconstitutional as the President is sworn to enforce all laws in all 50 states.

However, it is Settled Law™ (subject to change without notice), that prioritizing is within discretionary powers. That’s why a known invader, with no known crimes beyond invasion, can be released as standard procedure. So, yes, abandoning California might(?) be unconstitutional (subject to United States Supreme Court ruling, and change without notice). But redeploying all but say, one, employee to “more pressing” duties, like guarding the Wisconsin/Canadian border, in summertime, is Settled Science™Law.

  8. You want to bet Brown and the rest of the Democrats, with California firmly under their thumb now will secretly applaud ICE removing illegals as fast as they can to lessen the States financial disaster. They’ll decry it, condemn it and challenge it but behind closed doors they’ll thank God for it.
