ICYMI: Hunter Biden pleads ‘not guilty’ as plea deal falls apart during Delaware court appearance

DOJ prosecutors said Hunter Biden is currently under investigation.

FOX:

Hunter Biden’s plea deal fell apart during his first court appearance Wednesday morning and he pleaded “not guilty” as federal prosecutors confirmed the president’s son is still under federal investigation.

Hunter Biden was expected to plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax counts of willful failure to pay federal income tax, as part of plea deal to avoid jail time on a felony gun charge.

But Judge Maryellen Noreika did not accept the plea agreement, questioning the constitutionality — specifically the diversion clause and the immunity Hunter Biden would receive.

Hunter Biden was also expected to enter into a pretrial diversion agreement regarding a separate felony charge of possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance.

The judge pressed federal prosecutors on the investigation and questioned whether there was the possibility for future charges, and asked prosecutors if Hunter Biden was currently under active investigation. Prosecutors said he was, but would not answer specifically what the president’s son is under investigation for.

Prosecutors on Wednesday, though, said Hunter Biden pleading guilty to the two misdemeanor tax offenses would not immunize him from future charges.  There’s more

  1. Seems the media reports are about how the prosecutors scuttled the deal, but it seems Scrunter defense attorneys did so after it being pointed out by the judge that there was no “get out of jail free” card.

    Hunter had a bad day!

  3. I just don’t find Hunter to be The Most Interesting Man in the World.

Which puts me at odds with every media talking head in America. Guess Sports Ball just isn’t enough for the popular entertainment today.

  4. As if Hunter would have lived up to the terms of the deal anyway. But we all know that if he got caught, they would have found a loophole that says the terms did not apply on any day ending in a “Y.”

  5. What’s even more outrageous than this one of a kind “plea deal” that NO ONE has EVER received from the DOJ EVER in its ENTIRE history is that Cunter Bribin’s attorney actually pretended on the phone with the federal court clerk to be a representative of the House Ways and Means committee in order to have evidence removed from a packages sent by that Congressional committee before the court could see it.

In any normal situation, the Saul Goodman move would get a shyster instantly disbarred… But just watch it not happen.

I’d think Cunter Bribin was the goddamn antichrist if not for the fact that he is so goddamn stupid.

  6. I will freely and honestly admit that I am guilty as hell as long as you don’t punish me but, if you are, then I am as clean and innocent as a new born lamb, right Big Guy!
