If I ran a University, I would know That if tens of thousands of 18-21 year olds moved to campus And signed one year leases, and registered for classes Every single one of them would be legally responsible For tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of contracts.
And if I ran a University, I would make classes remote And make official policies against parties and gatherings And official policies for six feet of social distance Because if I ran a university, I would know 18-21 year olds are going to have parties and gatherings And won’t social distance.
If I ran a University I would unofficially encourage protests But only at the students’ discretion Because if I ran a University, I would know All about liability.
And if I ran a University I would have mandatory COVID testing Because if I ran a University, I would know Two weeks into the semester There would be an explosion of COVID cases.
If I ran a University, I would know That it just so happens two weeks into the semester Is also the Drop Deadline for courses After which minimal or even zero refunds Will be given to these kids That I told officially, in writing Must not party or gather And must socially distance.
And then – If I ran a University – I would shut down all remaining in-person classes And all dormitories and apartments And send tens of thousands of 18-21 year old kids back home With tens of thousands of dollars in contractual commitments To Housing and Tuition And a lot more cases of COVID They could take home to their parents and grandparents. …and if any of the kids, parents, or grandparents Tried to complain, or take legal action, or even just ask for an apology – I would remind them, through emails, or letters, or lawyers That it was they who broke the rules I wrote And those rules are binding –
Because I run a University.
Pretty sick, huh?
Our neighbor has four kids currently in college. Four different schools, all WAY out of state. Out-of-state tuition, room, meals, spending money, tuition, books, fees. Four kids. All four colleges are open to on-campus students/learning. What a lucky break. If they become ill with Covid, the schools have plans for quarantine and not sending the kids home. People ages 18-26 have way less of a chance of contracting Covid on campus than herpes.
In California, degrees are sold in the toiletry section of the supermarket. These are available by the roll and serve exactly the same purpose for a lot less.
If I ran a University I’d have a salary higher than the President of the United States per year and less responsibility. If I ran a University I’d be responsible enslaving thousands of students with life crushing student loan debt for a lifetime.
If I ran a University I’d still be a overpaid, over educated derelict responsible for the mis-education of a generation.
If only the severity of COVID was real, and not the biggest scam ever perpetrated upon the American people by the Media Industrial Complex and the Uniparty in DC……
There is a bright spot here. The university circus clowns
can only rob and cheat just so many rubes before the word gets out and the crowd of yokels takes its money and goes home to stay.
