They left out the part where a guy called 911 because somebody stole his newspaper.
Similar to my schizophrenic local news channel. They’ll report on 2-3 murders an hour and a half drive in the “big city,” followed by 3 strong armed robberies, then switch over to our “very local” news of a suspected garden gnome theft ring.
Oh, and they tease us with the weather report “coming up at the top of the next news hour”, only to be disappointed by waiting until the NEXT hour for the “extended weather-cast”.
Not far from the truth. Our small town rag is full of these type stories on the “Chief’s Corner” page.
That Dollar General aspect is spot on. Everytime I drive somewhere it seems as if a new one has popped up overnight.
Didn’t Joe Biden steal his neighbors newspaper once because he was too cheap to buy his own copy of the newspaper? And are they ever going to find Mr. Pickles or is he just roadkill run over by a local teenage boy who hates cats? And Dollar Generals are just like when 7-11 used to overbuild their rip off convenience stores in every neighborhood.
