Illinois gov. suggests employing recently arrived undocumented migrants on farms

JTN: Gov. J.B. Pritzker suggests allowing the influx of migrants who have arrived in Illinois to be workers on farms throughout the state. The notion has drawn questions.

Around 12,000 migrants have arrived in Chicago and other parts of the state over the past year. At a stop in Decatur to the Farm Progress Show Tuesday for an unrelated news event, Pritzker was asked about utilizing such workers on farms.

“What we have said is, we think they ought to have the ability to get jobs, and we have jobs available in Illinois,” Pritzker said. “In the ag [agricultural] community, we have jobs available.”

Pritzker went on to say that he believed the workers could benefit Illinois farms.

“I think it is a vitally important step forward,” Pritzker said. “Could it be great for the ag community? Of course, it could be, and you’ve seen that there is more and more work that needs to be done.” more here

  1. I AM an Illinois farmer and our highest expenditure is property tax and income tax. JB doesn’t have a friking clue of what a hired hand could do on a farm. If JB wants to help these folks he can have them mow and clean the ditches and repair the roads. He could drop the sales tax on everything. 6.25% tax on a $400,000 combine is a lot of tax. That’s after you paid state and federal tax on the money you earned to buy the stuff. So where is the money to pay for these illegals He is nothing but a brain dead idiot but, he is a democrat so the stupid folks in Illinois will vote democrats in every time.

  2. OK Everyone, in illinois, JB now says a BB Gun is considered a lethal weapon. In [a certain] county you can be charged with aggravated assualt with a deadly weapon for carrying a Daisy Red Rider (shoot your eye out) weapon. Sorry Ralphie
