Illinois has passed a law requiring landlords to open their doors to illegal immigrants.
As housing costs spiral out of control, particularly in large metropolitan areas such as Chicago, this new mandate is set to potentially increase the pool of renters by tens of thousands.
On June 30, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed SB 1817 into law, amending the Illinois Human Rights Act to include “immigration status” as a protected class, Breitbart reported.

I seem to recall a mortgage and banking meltdown because the Democrats lowered the bar as to what FANNIE & FREDI would accept for a qualified borrower. Now, the state of Il is going to mandate loans be given to people who could, at the drop of the hat, split town and head back “home” if they realize the payments for an ITIN loan are very costly? How does that make any sense?
Furthermore when the conventional banks & FHA won’t do the loan for an illegal alien will the state of Il sue the Federal Government for discriminating against a protected class? Illinois, rates on any mortgage just went up another 3 points. I’d laugh and say “Elections have consequences” but the voters who voted for this live in public housing and don’t care if rates go up or the cost of rent for that point either.
At some point there will be a revaluation. At some point.
Illinois is kind of desperate for people – legal or not – to move into the state.

Cato, LOL. Seriously, you’re correct. Politically, Illinois is a wasteland of rancid leftist sludge in the center of the Midwest. The Land of Lincoln has never been able to shake off the corruption oozing out of Chicago that began in the very early 1900s.
I escaped Ill-inois 36 years ago and live in a currently red (because of a proactive Republican legislation) southern state, North Carolina.
However, the populace tend to lean this state violet thanks to progressive elite and illegal immigrant invasion. The lame duck, CCP-friendly socialist, two term governor, Roy Cooper will be gone 2024. Hopefully, the ultra-conservative Mark Robinson running for governor will replace him.
This kind of thing is happening everywhere.
Either requiring property owners to rent to illegals, (tax payer funded of course) r forcing every town to build subsidized housing.
A huge lawsuit needs to happen and go all the way to SCOTUS.
