  1. Good news, it’s Wednesday. When I was over in CDA, Id. a couple of hours ago delivering some flowers to one of my customers I saw a great sight of a bunch of small kids running around at a nearby daycare center, squealing and happy and just having a blast with not a care in the world playing outside. My customer told me they were the kids of medical personnel from nearby Kootenai Medical Center. It made my morning to see a little slice of normality for a change, I miss all the Catholic kids traipsing up and down my sidewalk on their way to the playground across the street from my house. Thank God I was able to work at least some of the week so far, there’s only so many old Westerns and movies on TCM I can watch before I go nuts not really doing anything. This too shall pass and Spring really is coming, all my tulips are in bloom and my maple tree is starting to bud new leaves. But geez Louise I miss baseball, even listening to the crummy Seattle Mariners games on the radio.

  2. I was out doing pickups and deliveries today and when I got to one older gals house she stood at a window of her house and talked with me for about 20 minutes. She told me she hadn’t seen anybody but her daughter a couple of times in 2 weeks and it was nice just being able to talk with somebody. Before I left I asked her if she was short on supplies and if she needed anything. She said she was fine and well stocked as her church brought her food. Broke my heart I couldn’t stay and talk with her longer. This needs to end.

  3. When I was in the Navy and out at sea for extended periods of time we lost any sense of what day of the week it was. They all ran together and it’s not like you could get off the ship to really know what day it was. Twelve hrs. on duty, twelve off duty, working and eating and sleeping was all we did so it didn’t matter what day it was in the middle of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

  4. It’s all horses out here. People riding them everywhere. All the young kids have an iphone in one hand and the bridle in the other.

Totally thought it was going to be all noisy ATV’s driving around all day. Was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be horses.

  5. That’s about how lame and irrelevant local news is.
It could have some value as entertainment, but it’s swamp-poisoned like the rest of the news media.

    Let them go broke.

  6. I’m about to start my 9th Charles Wysocki 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. I’m up to season 6 of All Creatures Great and Small (that was after listening to all the audio books). Today I did some banking at the drive through and stopped by my favorite coffee kiosk, then went into Safeway for the first time in about 2 weeks. Interesting. Starting to see some of the restaurant and institutional-packed meats among the regular offerings. Things seemed well stocked and everyone looks a little bored. I think the novelty of crisis has worn off now. The checker was wearing her face mask over her mouth but not covering her nose. Didn’t have the heart to tell her, as she’s probably heard it from other customers.

  7. AA, speaking of audio books, and these are not books but stories from our history. Michael Medved (I ordinarily can’t stand the guy) does a really good job with his narrative of events in history. If you had the whole set you would have many hours of audio. I might check into that. That would beat the heck out of listening to Mariners Classics.
