Hollywood Reporter:
Four publications have reached the end of the road: In Touch, Life & Style, Closer and First for Women.
McClatchy Media Company, which owns and operates the magazines, informed staff on Friday that all four will be sunsetting in the coming weeks when final issues are published by the end of June, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
“Despite the best efforts of many of our talented colleagues, we have been unable to develop a profitable business model for four of our magazine titles. First for Women, In Touch, Life & Style and Closer will publish their final editions between June 20 and 27,” McClatchy spokesperson Julie Pendley said in a statement to THR. “We are grateful for the meaningful contributions of the affected employees and are providing support during the transition.” more here
Oooh… gosh… thats a shame. That means fewer stories of the following bent:
— Why you should divorce your husband.
— Why you should have an affair.
— Why you should have sex with your hot nephew.
— Why you should become a lesbian.
TheMule – Why your child’ interest in “non-traditional gendered toys” might mean you need to destroy their future with chemical castration.
Why Michael O’Bama is the most beautiful First Lady Ever.
And Why Melania Trump Isn’t.
Last and probably first magazine i read was MAD.
My eldest Sister usually picks me one up for Christmas.
Last one i got was 2021, do they still publish ?
In my 70’s now.
is MAD woke now? curious…
TinaB – the better question would be are they allowed to still be funny? the active destruction of humor is as bad as the WOKE problem.
I saw a new Mad Magazine in the checkout aisle with the other magazines at Winco on Saturday. One things for sure it sure as heck isn’t $.25 cents cheap anymore.
If I had a dollar for every one of those mags I’ve even heard of, I still wouldn’t have a dollar.
Audios worthless toilet paper.
And not a single shit was given
I would only “leaf” through these 4 magazines with others at my local library branch. The other posters are right, it is mostly crap or how to lose weight and then the next article is a recipe to make a high calorie cake.
Closer actually had articles about movie stars from the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s which were interesting to me.
