Insult to Injury: Disney Parks Guests Complain About Less-Than-Magical Experiences

PJM: : Disney has taken more than its share of hits lately after sticking its nose in Florida politics and coming out against the state’s Parental Right in Education law. Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida legislature ran circles around Disney, first by passing the legislation and then by revoking Disney’s Reedy Creek Improvement District.

The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) has suffered financially as a result of its far-left stance against protecting children from grooming, and the public has lost respect for the Disney brand in the wake of its wokeness as well.

One of Disney’s points of pride — no, not that kind of “Pride” — has been its theme parks and their ability to make guests feel like they’ve left the outside world behind and entered an immersive escape. Disney has traditionally thought of every detail and worked hard to accommodate guests at every turn, but as I’ve written before, TWDC has made it harder for guests to make the most of their hard-earned vacation. And I’m not the only one who has noticed.

Inside the Magic, one of the fan sites I follow, included several stories in Saturday’s email about guests who had less-than-magical experiences at Disney’s theme parks and resorts.

One article talks about a Disney guest who wrote on Reddit that he or she has concluded “that everything that made Disney unique is gone.” The Reddit user talks about garbage piling up in trashcans, sets and attractions “getting old” and falling into disrepair, and cast members who aren’t up to Disney’s standards for friendliness and politeness. more

  1. “Disney has taken more than it’s share of hits lately”.

No,it deserves every single sling and arrow coming it’s way.
Personally, I think Disney deserves years of criticism and out right disdain and should be abandoned by the sane.
They have a lot to make up for since they decided to go 100% pro pervert.

  2. I always liked Knotts Berry Farm better (California).

Back in the day, only twice did I go to Disneyland where EVERYTHING was open. The other times, a third of the stuff was busted or temporarily closed.

We went to 6 Flags Magic Mountain a few times here and there but we saw were struggling, too. They were shutting the park down during fall/winter and only opened a few months out of the year. (Valencia, California).
They’re still open… and cheaper than Disneyland. lol.
And no crazy groomer scandals that I heard of.

  3. MissInM-

    I agree.
My sister’s family is going to finish out their season passes and they’re done with Disney. They told me if they had known about the creepy shit, they wouldn’t have bought the passes. (No refunds).
They’re going to let the Disney Channel stuff expire, too. Right now, they have to sit with their son if he wants to watch Disney to make sure no ultra creepy shit appears. They’re within ear-shot when he watches TV anyway, but they have to make special exception with Disney and Nickelodeon now.

  4. They forgot to mention the rampant line-breaking. Last time I was in Disney World was 2016, and the scam was “my parents are in line up ahead, and I’m just trying to get back to my family” or “my kids are in line up ahead, and my just trying to catch up with them”. If you told them to wait where they are, text them (They ALL had phones) and meet up after the ride, they’d get snarly or fake sad, and some bozo would let them cut. Or the bum-rushers would just bull their way through at a weak point elsewhere, then give you the finger. And if you complained, the Disney-bots would just shrug.

And the extra hour after fireworks was a freaking mad-house frenzy of line-breaking. After the first night, we left before the fireworks even started.

That was six years ago. I can’t imagineer how things have gotten better.

  5. This is nothing new. A kid I went to high school with was killed at Disneyland in the 1980s.

  6. I lost respect for Disney a long time ago. Just the sound of the name is like fingers on a chalk board to me. Their attitude is that the name “Disney” is like a Magic Wand which Bippity Boppity Boo turns the worst tripe into a finest form of entertainment ever presented.

As for the parks, I think the first sign of decay was about 20 years ago when the new CEO stopped the practice of replacing all of the light bulbs every week so no one would ever see a burned out bulb.

It used to be that Disneyland was clean as a whistle. It seemed that if someone spit out gum, there was an employee to catch it before it hit the ground. While I have not been there in over 30 years, I somehow doubt that such is the case anymore.

  7. The last time I was at Disney on Orlando in the late 80’s it truly was a magical experience. My family thoroughly enjoyed it – except for the lines. But my youngest brother worked at the park and managed to navigate us through.

It’s a shame what liberals have done to our institutions and culture. They destroy everything they touch.

  8. Growing up in OC area, Disneyland was a relatively cheap night out to get together with friends or find new ones. Nothing but fun.
    Greed & liberalism trashes EVERYTHING

Waiting for Mickey to “come out” and “Identify” as a Gerbil.

  9. $109-$159 per adult to get into Dizzyworld per day (10 yo+), and $104-$154 per child (3-9 yo). I wouldn’t pay a plug nickel to go to Dizzeyland – not even for free! It’s definitely an American icon that destroyed itself. So be it.

  10. Waiting for Mickey to “come out” and “Identify” as a Gerbil.

That reminds me of the story about the brown gerbil who met up with a white gerbil and said:
“So, I see yer new to the place”

  11. … cast members who aren’t up to Disney’s standards for friendliness and politeness.

You mean MeMeMe wokesters don’t give a crap about anybody else? This truly is shocking.

  12. Yep unfortunately most of you here could never ever afford to go here.
See section 8 or human services will not pay for this. There is always hope though! You could always try a Go Fund Me page. We do understand your disappointment & resentment, sorry but your too poor to ever go, our love, Disney.

  13. The parks are full of rich people from Europe, Russia, China, the Middle East, Africa, and other. They have found that foreigners spend more money than Americans.

  14. Decent Americans must continue withholding dollars from the sinister pedophiles, child traffickers, and degenerates which are now “disney”. That means no merchandise, food, entertainment, videos, films, tv shows, trips, toys, books, etc.
