DES MOINES, Iowa —
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources now says the “possible mountain lion” in Des Moines was really someone’s house cat.
Des Moines Police posted on Facebook Thursday, saying the sighting was reported in the Gray’s Woods neighborhood on the city’s east side. The DNR confirmed the video showed a mountain lion, but since corrected their statement. more
How could anyone mistake a tabby cat for a lion? Must be day drinking again.

This is what Mountain lions look like. This is 1/2 bock from my house a couple years ago when the river was real high. The male is in the street, the female by the corner of the building.

“How could anyone mistake a tabby cat for a lion? Must be day drinking again.”
…well, there’s a whole bunch of people that mistake a pedophile for a president,so…
“I ain’t drunk. I can see that one-eyed cat coming in the door.”
“Sir. That cat is walking OUT the door.”

Some of that highly accurate eye witness testimony.
“The DNR confirmed the video showed a mountain lion!”
The authorities confirmed it says so right there, so it must be true. If they would have said bob cat, I would accept their mistake, but not a mountain lion for a house cat.
Guess y’all haven’t seen Maine Coon cats, have ya? had a black and white one that weighed almost 30 pounds, RIP
I think we found the person who mistook COVID 19 for an extinction event.
And on what mountain in Iowa was this sighting?
There was a big cat running around here awhile ago, that stupid thing attacked my little dog. It won’t do that again.
The Iowa DNR also mistook a large-mouth bass for a turkey.
Foster Brooks ain’t got nothing on about half of the staff at WDFW. I don’t find it one bit surprising.
This a story about photos taken of lions on my friend’s ranch
