CBS sports: No matter how much you try to pay attention, there are some plays in basketball that get so wild there is no way to prepare yourself for the ultimate embarrassment: a ball to the face.
It happens to players all the time, resulting in a numb nose and maybe a few uncontrollable tears. Sometimes it happens to fans sitting courtside, including cheerleaders. more
I have taken a face to the balls already but that is a whole new story.
Madonna holds the record for getting hit the most number of times with balls on the chin.
Oh wait-a-hold-it…. this isn’t the baseball thread is it…
So far I have only watched about two minutes of NCAA basketball and this was the major story of that two minutes. My tournament watching is now complete! Over and out!
Just one?

Good luck, bad luck or a lot of skill?
Hey basketball can be entertaining after all. A cheerleader lady gets gobsmacked in the nose by a laser guided orb! Almost as good as NASCAR wrecks and bullfighters getting gored!
On the “Think Quick” scale – you remember that here-comes-something-out-of-nowhere-right-at-your-face game from childhood, don’t you? – She scores a zero. Like a log, zero.
Oops on my first post.
Here is a working link.

When I was a kid, the Watnees (?) lived in the third floor apartment and I asked the Mom to throw the basketball to me so we could play. She did. From the balcony of the third floor to my face (I was standing on the sidewalk).
Hurt like Hell, and I had that pebble-grain imprint in my face for two days.
Didn’t cry (I was 7 or so) and thanked her but the tears were welling up pretty good.
Sure that was basketball? She looks more like a linebacker!
@Dadof4: that was hilarious… coming from someone who finds no joy in soccer. 🙂
That happened to a defender, who remained flat-footed, when I did a slam dunk.
Is that black player chasing the ball really that thin???
