  1. Dibs on the “natural sculptures” made from volcanic ash flowing over the citizens of Naples.

Move, or become reverse statues(hollow spaces to fill with concrete), Napolitans. You won’t be the first.

  2. Um, they might want to move? After the ‘blooey’ we will have lots of lovely new greenhouse hydrocarbons and CO2 and ash in the atmosphere again to keep the climate stable, as has been happening for millions of years. Yay. We’re past due.

Yes, there were people in them – and animals too. When they first discovered them, they were just hollow spaces with skeletons, though. The flesh was long gone. Once they filled them with plaster, they saw a moment in history in detail.

    It happened in 79 A.D.

Krakatoa’s eruption in 1883 made the sky weird all over the world. It may be why “The Scream” was painted.
