On December 3, 2012, Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, Nelson Peacock, responding to requests from several lawmakers, including Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), wrote: “Our conservative estimate suggests that ICE would require a budget of more than $135 billion to apprehend, detain and remove the nation’s entire illegal immigrant population.”
In July 2010, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) released the results of a study which examined the costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local levels. The study found that U.S. state and local governments shell out $84.2 billion annually in various services (law enforcement, schools, social services, etc.), with California taxpayers alone, spending $21 billion on illegal aliens every year.

You may not even have to spend THAT much. Start fining and actually jailing the heads of corporations and the mom and pop stores who hire illegals in the US. They’ll be self deporting in droves. One year in CA, (late 90’s) the state spent 9 Billion dollars to house, feed, jail and give welfare to illegals. And that was just the bill they sent to the Feds! They got reimbursed 3 million. Million not billion. Yeah, CA usually takes it in the ass because they love the feeling and all, but how about the other states? Is your ass bleeding yet?
Of course. But it has nothing to do with money. It has everything to do with importing a voting underclass and making it dependent on the left.
I’m convinced the Right could win over so many more voters by pointing out the *direct* impact (aforementioned costs, crime, jobs…) these illegals have on their lives. But, like the lightbulb joke, they have to *want* to listen.
Once you make deportation the policy, the word will go out and illegal invaders will self deport.
I agree with MFA. It is not necessary to deport them. Make it illegal to hire them (and enforce it!) and stop all welfare/medical/education benefits. They will self-deport, as there will be no reason for them to stay.
