‘It’s Noticeable’: Ravens President Tells Fans Anthem Protests Hurt Attendance

FOX: The president of the Baltimore Ravens told fans and sponsors in a letter that its game attendance during the 2017 season has been hurt by players’ national anthem protests.

Team President Dick Cass made the announcement this week, the Wall Street Journal reported.

On “Fox & Friends,” Pete Hegseth said the Ravens’ attendance at M&T Bank Stadium declined this year despite the fact the team is second in their division behind the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He also said that the protest by about a dozen players at the Ravens’ September game in London could be chiefly to blame.

Players on both the Ravens and the opposing Jacksonville Jaguars were criticized for protesting during the “Star-Spangled Banner” but standing up for Britain’s “God Save the Queen.”

The demonstrations “became an emotional and divisive issue,” Cass wrote, according to The Journal. “We know that hurt some of you.”

He said that the higher amount of empty seats is “noticeable” during the games.  MORE

SNIP: Awww he sounds really sad, you guys! *eye roll*

  1. You’d think the owners could get together and do something like freeze salaries or establish fines for these jackasses. Let the jerks kneel their way right out of a job.

  2. Squeal a little louder Dick! We can’t hear you!

What you should be doing is explaining to the people (and especially season ticket holders) how you and the league simply didn’t have the balls to handle the situation properly right from the start!

    Buh bye…

  3. BTW Dick… since that is yer name, if by some chance while wandering around out there in the rough you ever do find yer balls, put something in the contracts about appearance and decorum. Cut the dreads, long hair and crazy end zone demonstrations like humping, dog-peeing and the Voo-Doo dancing! Make monetary penalties a percentage of the contract so it will get their attention (especially the ones in the top tier) when they screw up!
    Guess Whut?
They’ll still sign on the dotted line for the opportunity to make millions!

  4. It might help if the league disbanded all the teams and held a start-from-scratch draft. I do believe that would tend to leave the demonstrator players out in the cold and go a long way towards rebuilding their image and recouping their fans.

  5. Football is done
Use the stadiums for College ball until a higher, better use can be found for the land.
Like some of those Community Gardens where the folk on the left are always volunteering. Turn that ground into something that produces actual value.

It isn’t going to happen. The owners/coaches/etc. are with the players protesting. They all deserve to be sent back to the ghetto and lose their asses. We the people will break their dinner plate! They’re too stoopid to own or operate anything. Suck it up liberals! LMAO!

  7. “It’s noticeable.”

How about, “It’s catastrophic. It’s lethal to our business. We’re done.”
Now that is the quote I’m looking for everyday. The demise of the NFL can not come soon enough.

Time for REAL Americans to double down and crush these anti-American idiots.

  8. They actually think their Fans are still their Fans and can be brought back with some fake apology “We’re sorry if some of you racist fascist bigots stupidly misunderstood our Wokeness. Just for that we’re raising prices 25%”.

The real SHTF reckoning will come when Stadium revenue fails to meet the Bond payments obligations.
About that time, innocent injured parties like Papa Johns Inc and their shareholders will collectively realize their best course is to sue both the NFL and the Owners.

About the same time, it will become obvious that the Teams themselves are now worth much less than the high prices paid prior to Knee-Mageddon.
Many/most of these Franchises are in turn financed and leveraged.
When the earning power of a financed asset declines, interesting things happen.

Massive pending lawsuits by damaged vendors/partners will accelerate the anxiety and valuation decline.

A whole new industry for sports lawyers: Collections.

  9. “What’s your business model?”

“Well … shit on the dining room table, insult my customer base, rub salt in their eyes, piss in their coffee, beat the piss outta the fans, let my playahs try to fuck their daughters … oh … and charge em an arm and a leg for me to do that to em!”

“Oh! Here’s your “Charity” status so’s you don’t have to pay taxes!”

“Now … if I can just get the dumb fucks to build me a stadium in every city …”

    izlamo delenda est …

  10. Over the years it’s been amusing listening to legions of macho men ridicule soccer. But soccer fills stadiums all over the world. Would be a hoot to see former NFL stadiums converted to soccer stadiums, filled to the brim.

  11. @Jugeroybean – I like that idea! Unlike a lot of people who comment here, I rather enjoy watching fútbol. It has something to do with the three years I lived in Argentina when I was a boy.

It might take some re-jiggering of the sidelines, though. NFL fields are 53⅓ yards wide (Canadian football fields are 65 yds. wide) and although pro soccer field width can vary a bit, they have to be at least 70 yds wide. Length should be easy, soccer fields are 110 to 120 yards long.

  12. The Krapernick Union NFL players will eventually be “thrown” by their own actions. Most aren’t smart enough to expect a negative reaction to the protests or loss of income. They will discover being a SJW doesnt mix with fan-based enterprises.

  13. The Star Spangled Banner was written
near Baltimore’s harbor aboard a British warship during their attack
on the City. They were forced to
retreat after failing to take Ft. McHenry and losing a battle at nearby
    North Point. Baltimore remembers that.
So the kneelers protest the Anthem
and salute “God Save The Queen” in
London, England. Oh, we’re pissed alright.
