J.D. Vance wins Ohio GOP Senate primary

Author J.D. Vance wins Ohio GOP Senate primary, as Trump endorsement prevails again.

Just The News:

Ohio Senate Candidate J.D. Vance, an author and venture capitalist, is projected to win the Republican primary on Tuesday evening, according to the Associated Press.

Vance steadily climbed in the polls after he was recently endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

He ran against former Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel and former Ohio state Sen. Matt Dolan.

Vance had captured 31% of the vote in the three-way race with 75% of precincts reporting when the wire service called the race.

He will now face former Democrat congressman Tim Ryan in the general election for the seat of retiring GOP Sen. Rob Portman.

Trump endorsed Vance, author of “Hillbilly Elegy, on April 15, about two weeks before primary day, with Vance in most polls in third place and low of campaign fund, which significantly increased with the former president’s backing.

  1. RINO GOP-E Baby Tyrant Mike “Screw the Ohio Supreme Court, I have a Biden nomination to secure!” DeWine won the gubernatorial primary, so don’t celebrate TOO much, whether he or the crazy lady Demon from Dayton wins, either way Ohio is still safely in Democrat hands, Governor-wise.

  2. President Trump endorsed 22 candidates in the Ohio and Indiana primaries today, plus 33 in the March Texas primaries.

How many of those 55 lost? ZERO. Trump has a perfect record so far in 2022.

  3. some don’t like Vance & label him a neo-con or anti-Trumper … even though PDT endorsed him.

I suggest you read his book ‘Hillbilly Elegy’. he grew up under very debilitating circumstances & was practically raised by his maternal grandmother in abject Appalachian poverty, experienced the destruction of his family through government programs & cheap drugs. it was very heartbreaking & at the same time, very uplifting

he went on to enlisting in the Marine Corps. & after a tour in Iraq he went & graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University. he went on to Yale & received a Juris Doctorate.

  4. I gladly voted for Vance. Also voted for Renacci who was ousted by the Fauxci loving, shrimpette DeWhiner who did his best to wreck our economy. Damnation! It seemed like Renacci did very little campaigning. maybe i missed it because the TV isn’t on mush here. Whaley is a POS and Cincy is giant crime-ridden hole. Interesting to note for the first time in decades the County Health Dept levy went down in flames.

  5. Yes, Hillbilly Elegy was a good book, although I was disappointed in his still democrat/lib political leanings after that rough upbringing. But, like DJT (and me), he matured and changed his political views –without falling for the full party line on the other side.

I’m happy to see these sorts of candidates can win Republican primaries because I think they are exactly the type of candidate needed to get fed up Democrats to cross party lines in the general elections. This is populism.

  6. F Vance. Now I’m back to voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I was forced to vote Portman and he’s an F’ing monster. I’m tired of this shit.

Look at all the venture capital $$ and Silicon Valley liberal ties to Vance. He’s no America First candidate. DJT screwed us on this one

  7. I “gladly” voted for Lindsey Graham the FIRST time he ran too but never after. Not even the last time despite Graham bombarding the radio airwaves with Trump & Pence glowing endorsements.

Here’s to better luck for Ohioans!
