BG: On the first business day following House Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)’s resignation, J.D. Winteregg filed his necessary paperwork, becoming the first candidate on the regular ballot to replace Boehner in Ohio’s 8th District.
Winteregg challenged Boehner in the 2014 primary, but lost. However, now that Boehner is out, this coming election presents a new opportunity for the aspiring politician.
“The Winteregg campaign is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to collect signatures for the special election to finish out John Boehner’s term through 2017,” Winteregg’s campaign stated in a press release.
“No other person had the courage to challenge John Boehner BEFORE he stepped down,” Winteregg touted. more here
Any 8th-District residents care to weigh in on this guy?
Seriously. Is he a real-deal conservative? Or is he another spineless DemLite?
What were his prior occupations? That will tell a lot.
Mr. Winteregg’s positions, according to his website, http://www.jdwinteregg.com/issues :
* Secure the border… enforce laws now in effect…100% against amnesty…
* Free market capitalism with minimal regulations.
* “I am pro-life, no exceptions.”
* The Second Amendment should be vigorously defended from attempts by the federal government to undermine it.
* Entirely defund and replace Obamacare with a solution that removes the federal government from having a say in the relationship between patient and doctor.
* Former public school teacher opposed to the Common Core standards. Supports the states’ rights to implement standards they deem to be rigorous and suitable enough for their children.
Opposed to any further increase in our nation’s debt ceiling without any definitive cuts in spending.
* Government is not the primary source of economic growth. The private sector is more efficient and productive than any government effort.
* The Constitution means today what it meant when it was written. The Preamble to this great document makes clear that the Constitution was written, among other reasons, to secure the blessings of liberty. An activist federal government undermines this key founding principle, so I will work to restore our process of governance to what the founders originally intended with the Constitution as my guide.
