Japanese Prime Minister Abe Considers Meeting with Kim Jong-Un

Breitbart: Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is reportedly considering his own summit meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un following Kim’s Singapore summit with U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Wall Street Journal cited Japanese media reports on Thursday indicating the Abe-Kim meeting could be held as early as August, although there has been no official announcement yet.

Abe met on Thursday with the relatives of Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea in the 70s and 80s and promised he would “make progress on the abduction issue in any summit meeting with North Korea.”

Abe has previously indicated satisfaction with President Trump’s handling of the issue during his meeting with Kim, but there was no official announcement of progress and the abductees were not mentioned in the joint declaration by Trump and Kim. MORE

  1. Trump had a great interview with Doocy, F&F this am. He told him Obama, when turning over the reigns, said we were destined to war with NK. Trump asked if Obama had ever talked to Kim and he said no. Trump said his response was well wouldn’t that be the first step? Instead of getting into a war where hundreds of thousands if not millions of people’s lives were at stake. Meeting and talking is good. It is a lot easier to be hostile when you have no relationship. Just common sense which we have very little of anymore in the wake of TDS.

  2. Well, considering the Japs annexed Korea in 1910 and basically eradicated Korean culture and language, never mind the death toll… THIS should be interesting…

  3. @Anon- that interview was great. POTUS was so natural, like he was among friends. He joked and smiled. It was great to see him like this. Love this man.
