WaExaminer: Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush urged Republicans to pursue “21st-century solutions” to issues Americans face and govern inclusively if they wish to improve the GOP’s brand and build on recent party victories under the next administration.

“Our party must be big-hearted and creative and opportunistic,” the ex-White House hopeful, who was President-elect Trump’s greatest rival for much of the GOP primary, wrote in a Friday op-ed for the Wall Street Journal.

Bush declined to support Trump in the general election, often criticizing his lack of policy knowledge and foreign policy plans, though he now admits the incoming Republican president “successfully tapped into the anger and deep distrust that voters feel toward Washington” to deliver himself a “hard-fought victory.”

But as Trump prepares to take office on Jan. 20 and the newest Republican-controlled Congress descends on Capitol Hill, Bush said GOP leaders must realize they have been tasked with governing a divided nation and can unite the country only if the party delivers on the promises of prosperity and security many of its members made.  more here

  10. Hey Yeb, if you’d won the GOPEE nomination for President we’d be looking at a hellary administration for the at least the next 4 years guarandamnteed. GO AWAY LOSER and don’t ever think of coming back ever again. You, the rest of the Bushes the Obamas and the Clintons are all toast now. There’s a new sheriff in town name of Trump and it sure as hell isn’t you, thank God.

    Who can forget this guy saying he knew the people that were going to get him the nomination during the debates? I always thought he was talking about the donors and GOPe, rather than the voters. I think that fact he stated he needed to lose the primaries to win the nomination confirms this.

  27. Hey Jeb if you want to be big hearted and compassionate and all lovey-dovey, why don’t you write a $1M check to the US Treasury and encourage all of us to chip in? Talk is cheap you loser! Step up and show some leadership. The bushies always are interested in doing “creative and opportunistic” things with OPM.

  31. If I had even one tiny speck of respect for Chebby I would say that he should stop embarrassing himself this way. But I don’t. I despise him down to his shallow and squishy core. So instead, I say he should keep on blurting out this sort of drek because it provides entertainment and comic relief.

  35. Distrust of the GOPe candidates to change anything in Washington was a bigger factor than the general distrust of Washington in the outcome of the last election.

    That was driven by the failure of the GOP to do anything of merit with the gains they were given in the previous two or 3 elections. Nothing in the GOPe Brand worth restoring Jeb.
