Jeb Bush Has “Mistaken And Conflated” Story About Receiving NRA Award, Campaign Admits.
Buzzfeed: Bush has repeatedly claimed that he received the NRA’s “statesman of the year” award.
The former Florida governor has told the story on several occasions, saying he received a rifle from then-NRA president Charlton Heston and was the recipient of the group’s “statesman of the year” honor in 2003.
While the NRA rates the records of politicians on gun issues, the group does not hand out a statesman of the year award. In 2003, the NRA held its annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, with Bush as the keynote speaker. The NRA’s meeting page from that year makes no mention of Bush receiving any award. Oops.
Sometimes one can tell a lie so many times they come to believe it themselves.
Like a true-blue liberal.
Must be getting it mixed up with some US Chamber of Commerce award.

Dang! Jeb! that! sucks!
At least he didn’t have to dodge sniper fire.
Perhaps it was when Charlton Heston, to be polite, complimented Gneb on his guacamole recipe in 2003.
Give Yeb a break, it’s an easy mistake to make.
Look for Yeb to release pics of himself trapshooting with Obola in Hawaii on Christmas vacation.
And why is it always lying about trivial stuff that always gets them. Now, the big lies — the obama-size lies like “affordable health care” — those never get any play time.
Oh Jeb. It’s time to have a white whine spritzer and call it a day. Winter is coming…the perfect time of year for a Cruz.
Get the fork ready.
Great picture! Proposed subtitle: “Mama Told Me Not to Come”
I was there!
I helped Chuck carry that 105 mm Howitzer up onto the stage to present to Cheb! We had naked dancing girls on either side of us – Hillary Clinton and Rosa DeLauro – who were carrying M-60s … sorta like honor guards.
John Wayne was there, too! And Ronald Reagan! And that other guy … Tommy Jefferson … said it would be a real honor to meet Cheb!
He’s got it all wrong! Brian Williams won the award that year.
No more Bush’s, EVER.
Just backin’ ya up there, Brian. Saw the whole thing.
