Jeb Springs Bribery Accusation on Trump, But Trump Scores on the Influence of Big Money Donors

RUSH:  Okay, grab sound bite number three.  This a prediction that I made going into the debate last night.  I said it yesterday on this program.

RUSH ARCHIVE:  Somebody’s gonna have some sort of secret bit of information about Trump that we haven’t heard before that they’re gonna accuse him of. Or they’re gonna run lists of names by him and make him defend his relationship with them or his knowledge of them, or some such “gotcha” technique as that.

RUSH:  And, of course, it did happen, as Jeb Bush accused Trump of trying to bribe him to set up legalized gambling in Florida.  Audio sound bite number five.  This is from the debate last night.  Moderator Jacob Tapper said, “Governor Bush, Mr. Trump has repeatedly said that the $100 million you’ve raised for your campaign makes you a puppet to your donors.  Are you?”

JEB:  No! Absolutely not!  The one guy that had some special interests that I know of that tried to get me to change my views on something — that was generous and gave me money — was Donald Trump.  He wanted casino gambling in Florida.

TRUMP:  I didn’t want it.

JEB:  Yes, you did!

TRUMP:  Totally false.

AUDIENCE: (laughing)

JEB: You wanted it and you didn’t get it —

TRUMP: I would have gotten it.

JEB: — because I was opposed to casino gambling before, during, and after.

TRUMP I promise, I would have gotten it.

JEB: I’m not gonna bought by anybody!

TRUMP:  I promise if I wanted it, I would have gotten it.

RUSH: (laughing) I tell you, folks, I just… Whenever this stuff happens, I just end up laughing.  “If I woulda wanted it, I woulda gotten it.”  Meanwhile, here’s everybody flailing away on the facts of the matter.  Let’s jump back to sound bite number four.  This is Roger Stone.  He was on Fox & Friends this morning, and he’s a former Trump campaign senior advisor.  He’s not now. He’s gone, I think, since the middle of August. But Steve Doocy said, “What about Jeb?  Jeb was ready with that ‘you came to me and asked me about trying to get casino gambling in Florida.’  Did it happen, Roger?

STONE:  Having been directly involved in that, let me say that the efforts by Trump to, uh, explore casino gambling in Florida happened under Lawton Chiles, not under Jeb Bush.   MORE

  1. Hey Donald, you need to read this…

“Ten weeks before the collapse of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., a financial disaster that ushered in the global economic crisis in September 2008, Jeb Bush was in Mexico City to seek help from billionaire Carlos Slim.

Mr. Bush signed on with Lehman after leaving the Florida governor’s mansion, making it clear he wanted work as a hands-on investment banker rather than hold a ceremonial role typically given ex-politicians. Now was his chance…”

  2. I want to hear from some Jeb supporters. I must not frequent the correct sites, I have yet to see a comment where someone is supporting Jeb.

I’ve found positive comments on everyone else, including Hellery, but I’ve never seen anyone make a case for Jeb.

  3. I don’t know why I listen to Medved. He’s on after Rush I guess that the only reason.

Today, he spent his time quoting Karl Rove and bashing Trump while saying that Jeb! came is second in the debate after Carly. Really?!?!

Oh, and if anyone cares the lefties on my FB page think that Kasich is the most reasonable Republican that they still wouldn’t vote for.

  4. No, I want to see an actual real live commenter in the comments of an article. I know the media hacks swoon when they say Jeb, but I want to see real support, something like.

“Trump is for fags, Jeb has enthusiasm, he’s the best man for the job!”

Not even a troll would do this, in fact, I’m probably the only person to ever write something like it ever as a comment.

  5. I had a cat go tbrough that years ago. I tbought she wouud die, but she pulled through and lived just fine for ten more years. The vet was mystified. It took a couple of months for her to walk right and lose the tremors, but she was fine, ultimately. Just keep her comfortable is all I can say.

  6. It’s a feral cat that’s been living with her kittens on our property. I came home and it looked like a bad episode of ER. All the same she deserves the best shot. Ruled out snake bite and trauma. Weird.

  7. I am going to clue ya’ in about Medved and his little buddy Segal. Mike Segal was getting busy with a Captain in the US Air Force Reserves stationed at McCord AFB on occasions that her live in boyfriend, another Captain was deployed. Medved knew all about this action and was fine with it.

I wouldn’t piss down Medved’s throat if his stomach were on fire.

  8. What the hell is Yeb talking about, even the US government uses bribery to get what they want to happen, Trump is a business man, bribery is a tool, you use the tool that works the best, everybody knows that.
    Bush the Dumber

  9. Most so-called “Fact Checkers” have it that Trump Hotels and Casinos donated $50,000 to the Republican Party of Florida shortly before the Bush election campaign. TH&C also hired a former Speaker of the Florida House as a lobbyist. They hoped to build a casino on Seminole land. Bush opposed opening Florida to casino gambling. The idea was dropped owing the opposition of the Republicans. Everyone can construe these events however they want. . .

  10. It might have gotten into something like antifreeze, either by accident or on purpose. It’s sweet and will shut the kidneys down.

Someone poisoned one of my dogs with it decades ago. A real low point of pet ownership for me. The drive back home from the all-night vet with just his collar was hard.

I don’t think any actual poison is on the shelf anymore for rat control so I wouldn’t assume that. Mostly those are anti-coagulants now.

    Sorry for your loss.
