An apocalyptic scene unfolded on a Pennsylvania highway after a tanker truck carrying jet fuel crashed, killing two and snarling traffic for hours.
The Saturday episode left the truck’s smoldering trailer burning, sending thick and black smoke into the sky as it blazed, according to CBS News.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

Kind of an unnecessary detail unless the writer thinks that firefighters normally smoke cigarettes and drink coffee while watching the flames get ever higher, unless they have mission swings and in some cases encourage fires like Fahrenheit 451 or something.
Ha.
In other words, “Firefighters worked to fight the fire because fighting fires is sometimes their job when they’re not having coffee and smoking cigarettes.”
I’m surprised it didn’t result in the damage and collapse, etc of a critical piece of infrastructure like an overpass, etc. None of these things seem to be “accidents” anymore, but rather purposeful destruction to further other agendas.
When it comes to EV fires, firefighter’s job is to just let it burnout on its own and attempt to not let other things around it catch fire. So, yeah, sit around smoke cigrits and drink coffee.

@Lasvegasbrad — Looking at the photos, I sure seems to me that vehicle #1 with the flat tire stopped on the shoulder of the highway. There’s no sign of an exit that I can see. Also from the photos, it seems likely (not certain) that vehicle #2 stopped not quite all the way on the shoulder and was sticking out into the traffic lane. Driver #2 and the tanker driver, who failed to maintain an adequate interval, paid with their lives.

It seems many drivers are more than normally driving like on a race track these days. And the police are far and few. Driving 80 is slow. People way too close to make a safe fast stop. Must be something in the water or maybe in the news.
