Real Men of Genius Singer – Jimi Jamison, former lead singer of Survivor- dead at 63

LAT Jimi Jamison, the former lead singer for the rock bands Cobra and Survivor, died Sunday, his booking agent Sally Irwin confirmed to the Los Angeles Times. Jamison died of a heart attack at his home in Memphis, Tenn., Irwin said. He was 63. Jamison was the lead singer for Survivor from the mid-to-late 1980s, creating such hits as “Burning Heart” from “Rocky IV” and “The Moment of Truth” from “The Karate Kid.” Jamison joined the group at the height of its popularity — the band having just released “Eye of the Tiger” from “Rocky III” — after former lead singer David Bickler left the group because of voice issues.   1. So… the guy is better known for the Bud Light commercials than anything listed in the LA Times obit. Got it.

    BTW, needless to say, those commercials are on YouTube, like everything else culturally significant.

  2. So I guess the person who wrote this article IS NO REAL PERSON OF GENIUS!! why I hate internet “journalists” LOL inept and lazy and don’t know or research the facts!!! The singer in the ads is Dave Bickler the singer for Survivor on the Eye of the Tiger song But left the band soon after and made way for Jamo (Jimi Jamison) to join…. The commercials with Jimi Jamison were the starbucks commercials where ironically enough Jimi was sining a parody of the song Dave Bickler used to sing “eye of the tiger” but was made into “Glen, Glen, Glen… Rest in peace Jamo!! you are missed brotha!!
