  1. There is a foolish tendency on the right to take into account a man’s faith (or at least his public display of it) and give him extra “decency” points for it………big mistake.

We do the same thing with Mike Pence. One thing does not track the other. Being a Christian gets you into Heaven, but here on earth we mere mortals judge you by your deeds.

  2. Mr. Peanut really snookered a lot of well-meaning Christians including myself to vote for him in 1976 because it was the Christian thing to do. In 1980 I still didn’t know any better and voted for him again. If I could take it back, I should’ve voted for Reagan instead.

  4. I was out of the Navy but in college at EWU from 1976-80 and got a BA in social work which explains why I voted like I did. I have no excuses and should’ve got a degree in history instead which I love and taught history. The only thing good about having a BA in social work is I know how the left operates inside out, upside down and backwards. And I absolutely hate Cloward and Piven and community organizing. It took trusting in God, reading Francis Schaeffer, Russell Kirk, C S Lewis, G K Chesterton, Alexander Solzhenitsyn etc. to change my thinking and make me a conservative, which I probably was all long but didn’t know it at the time. It has been 50 years this Labor Day weekend that I last smoked dope with a friend of mine (who is still a stoner) and haven’t been tempted by it since and all because of God’s grace.

  5. The ONLY reason the Lord let him live as long as he did was to lose the title of being the worst President in the History of the U.S. We have a pretty close tie for first place between Biden and Barry

  6. My father was a career Army officer, and Carter was the reason he decided to retire. The 4 long years Carter was president the DOD went on a minority promotion binge based on the Peter principle, and made the service unbearable.
