Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY), the dean of the House of Representatives and first elected in 1980, administers the oath of office to Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. Johnson proceeded to swear in all members of the House en masse. Shouts and handshakes erupt across the House chamber.

I have no problem with this.
Trump wanted Johnson, He should get what he wants. Now, there are no excuses, it’s time to go to work.
It’s a bitter pill but I don’t think there was a viable alternative.
Hopefully he’ll grow a set of nuts.
I’ll believe this is a good thing as soon as I find my grain of salt.
Weak men are easy to control works both ways.
I bet Trump got on the phone and ripped some new assholes on the RINOS that scuttled the first vote.
I’m glad a few GOP held out enough to make him sweat, but it was pretty much inevitable and more important to start on legislation.
I think there were good reasons to hold out for a minute though, MTG explains one here: https://x.com/RepMTG/status/1875303886850084944
My Rep. Kieth Self was one of the people to vote Other originally. By all accounts, he seems like a solid dude. I hope he got some good concessions from Johnson.
Johnson under Biden was one thing. I guess we’ll see if Johnson under Trump is any better.
President Trump has got Johnson on a short leash and the Republican led Congress better do the same and get it together to stifle the Democrats. No more wasted opportunities to put into law strong conservative policies.
Nice job, Republicans scaring the little weasel on the first vote, just to let Johnson know he’s not going to get away with the crap he pulled under Dementia Joe’s Administration. No more voting for a bloated budget, for example. Tag team Elon/Vivek are going to be on him like white on rice as they advise the President.

I will believe it when I see it.
“President Trump has got Johnson on a short leash”
Exactly. As I posted above. Weak men are easy to control.
It’s beginning to look like deja vu all over again to me. Until there’s a fearless Speaker like Clay Higgins who is simply not worried about his “career” in DC, what the legacy media thinks of him or if the skanks on The View are gonna explode, then it’s going to continue to be SSDI.
Do you need anymore proof than the BS he tried to SNEAK through just a week ago? FFS open your fucking eyes.
Trump better stick his arm up Johnson’s ah and start working those lips.
There will be no acceptable excuses for not assisting POTUS Trump
Now is not the time to fight over the speakership. He may need to go, but now is not the time.
Johnson Wins to spend.
US Taxpayers Lose.
A short leash, yeah right, johnson could dislocate the shoulder of the one who holds the leash.
What happens when you run out of shit in Washington? You recycle it.
