Apparently Jim Jones was simply a cleaner choice than Charley Manson…

It figures, jimma carta never met a bad guy that he didn’t appease. He was his own worst enemy a goody two shoes Christian who thought that by being nice to these cruds like Jim Jones etc. he could change them. And it backfired on him and us every time he stood up for the bad guys like deposing the Shah of Iran and bringing in the Ayatollah Khomeinei thinking that he was better at saving democracy in Iran because the Shah violated human rights. Mr. Peanut is basically solely responsible for all the turmoil in the middle east since he late 1970’s. Then joey became the worst US president ever making jimma carta look like a piker. Thanks for nothing, Mr. Peanut you sucked but barry and joey suck even worse.

it’s said that you think very highly of someone’s intelligence if he agrees with you.
Well, I think you’re Einsteinian genius.
I think, by far, that the peanut (I’m not certain about his wife) was one of the most honest presidents we’ve had: a total moron, but honest: Joey was in the late stages of senile dementia when elected[?], so he can’t be included.

About 2 years ago I somehow was interested in the deep (very deep) dive into the Why’s and Wherefore’s of the entire Jim Jones/Jonestown, and Jonestown epilogue. I won’t look for it now, but there exists about 4-6 hours (I don’t remember how long) of a long-form interview/explanation from a fellow who looked into the entire history and devolution of Jim Jones, his followers, and everyone else involved in Jones’ orbit.
The involvement of Carter and the fine, upstanding politicians of CA, with Jones is much greater than this short clip exposes, but it is the meat of it. Depending on which of those characters were asked, they each had their own particular reason(s) for hitching their wagon to Jones’ start, so to speak. One of the main reasons was, as always, so they could get their grubby hands on all those votes. They knew if they bribed Jones with a city position, he’d hand every pre-punched vote over to them, lock, stock, and harvested barrel. And never mind if you were a member who voted Republican, you were gonna vote Democrat or else face the wrath of Jones himself. And probably whacked with a broom handle in front of the congregation. That’s just how loving he was.
This is a story that needs to be told about CA politics; especially as many of the bad actors are still around and they need their “legacies” completely torn apart.
