July 4 Has Always Been About Resisting Tyranny, And This Year Is No Exception

Federalist

Despite America being currently shaken to its foundation, we are a blessed nation, with holidays such as Independence Day — commonly known as the Fourth of July — to reminisce on that fact. If more Americans understood that they are the true heirs and protectors of the birth of freedom in the world, July 4 celebrations might well take on a new dimension, potentially igniting Americans from all walks of life to sacrifice their time and resources and join the ranks of the growing patriot movement dedicated to saving America’s freedom at this critical time. more

  1. Yes, we are indeed blessed and I love 7/4, but enough contests where guys gobble hot dogs.

    We need a (biological) woman-only taco-eating contest.

  2. Great article about our founding–too many people are willfully ignorant and/or too indoctrinated to know where we came from and why the USA is still the greatest country and worth fighting for. Thanks, MJA.

    Happy Independence Day!

  3. If Trump wins the election (and I think he will), it may well be the liberal/socialists who, goaded by the likes of Reiner and Penn, will start a civil war. They could try to take Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and other liberal shit-holes out of the Union. If that happens, the liberal/socialists will deserve a serious beat-down for trying it.

I say, No Way. The union is worth preserving as a Republic.

  4. “[Independence Day] will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Days Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not.” – John Adams
