In my quest to learn the ins and outs of the orthodoxy of evolutionary theory (and therefore bring to light its deficiencies), I discovered geologist and lawyer Dr. Casey Luskin, associate director of the Center for Science and Culture at the Discovery Institute.
A proponent, researcher, and advocate for intelligent design, Dr. Luskin has been defending academic freedom for scientists who face discrimination because of their support for ID for nearly 20 years.
I’ve written about it here before, but I shared with Dr. Luskin my personal skepticism concerning the religion of evolution. As a layman (relative to him), it seemed to me as if Evolution™ had an “invisible hand of God” problem that’s never been seriously addressed.
The mythology of Evolution™ seems to have a beginning (the Big Bang), an end (modern Homo sapiens), but no middle. And as I came to understand from my conversation with Dr. Luskin, much of the evidence for evolutionary theory amounts to flimsy, tenuously linked assumptions on the verge of being disproved in various fields.
We began by discussing one of the more popular arguments against intelligent design: the concept of “junk DNA.” more
Things that make you go, “hmmm.”
Also shows a predeliction for “scientists” to look for evidence in support of their pet theories. Everyone else needs to realise that a theory is just a theory, not a law, and keep working with the science.

The THEORY of evolution has always been complete garbage. All one has to do is consider the true miracle of DNA. The complete instruction set needed to physically construct a human being (and all other creatures on an individual basis from the dawn of time) is contained within the single cell that we all started life as. The information necessary to construct the physical bodies made of bones, muscles, optic nerves (and the vision that accompanies them), brain functions, lungs, heart, etc. is a true miracle in itself.
The incredibly flawed theory of evolution as it is currently presented is nothing more than the futile attempt of atheists to explain God’s miraculous creation without giving HIM credit for his obvious work. The exquisite design of the DNA that creates and sustains all life is proof that there is a God – the design was perfect from the start. Such a perfect design could not possibly, randomly evolve over eons of time to create the perfect forms of life we see with our own eyes every day. Much less what we call the indomitable “human spirit” (I believe God’s spirit in us at an individual level) that human beings possess.

The result of the scam known as Evolution is that Satan not only hates God, but he hates God’s creation of man as a sacred entity.
In order to destroy the sacred, Evolution was born to relegate man to a worm crawling out of the primordial scum. Man is not sacred since we are just scum.
Mankind is sacred because all of God’s creation was brought into existence by his words except Man. When God created Adam, he took the dust with his hands, formed man and breathed his spirit into him, thus giving him life. Eve was then created by God taking the rib from Adam himself and forming Eve. We are all sacred, which Satan hates.
“There needed to be an intelligent designer to create both the machinery and the instructions.” Which begs that pesky next question.
God does not make junk; man makes junk theories thinking that he is smarter than God.
Two questions “evolutionists” can’t answer:
1. Exactly how did life start?
2. Where are all the “in between” species, if evolution is a constant process?
If I’m a cop and in the course of my investigation of a murder I come up with evidence that Suspect A did NOT commit the crime, then without evidence that Suspect B did it, the elimination of A does not prove that B is the culprit. Or C. Or D…
There is a lot we don’t know. Be this as it may, disproving various hypotheses about evolution is not evidence for Intelligent Design.
Find some mention of dinosaurs in ancient texts, or fossils of golden nematodes or unkangaroo bones in the Middle East, etc. — without coming up with an imagined evidence-free hypotheses.
Claudia — Yes. Beautifully explained.
Two powerful arguments against the theory of evolution.
1) Irreducible complexity
2) Cambrian explosion
The Church muzzled Galileo.
But was he wrong?
These scientists don’t lack hubris. They think that if they don’t understand something, it isn’t worth understanding.
I am currently rereading GK Chesterton’s The Everlasting Man again. I need something good to read and reading GK Chesterton always makes me think about God as the ultimate creator every time that I read his books, his essays which are still spot on 100 years later and his poetry.
When I was a High School Sophomore, back in the early ’70s, I had an interesting discussion with our science teacher about how old the Earth actually is. I pointed out that current archeological dating, based on the ‘known’ half-life decay rate of the radiocarbon isotope, Carbon-14, subsequently extrapolated back through eternity, was completely built around the speculative assumption that Carbon-14 (discovered in 1934, more or less, and postulated as an age marker in 1949), had a consistent decay rate extending billions of years into the past. The total elephant in the room, of course, is that such a consistent decay rate is absolutely unverifiable, thereby calling any kind of accuracy from using it as a dating mechanism any further back than 1949, into question. Hmmmm.
Our subsequent discussions on the Theory of Evolution also dove into further highly questionable ‘scientific’, often contradictory, assumptions, which, upon review, simply did (nor do they) hold up to critical, objective, scrutiny.
It was fun…I very much enjoyed debating Coaches double-dipping as science & math teachers!

Religion is not Science.
Science is not Religion. (Nor should it be.)
One needn’t negate the other.
Under the Scientific Model, Hypotheses and Theories are not, have never been, nor ever will be, facts.
Theories become ‘laws’ or ‘fact’ after rigorous empirical testing and observation…with duplicatable results from disparate researchers (until new, contravening facts are unearthed, that is). Given the breathtaking span of time encompassed by Evolutionary Theory, it is highly likely that it will ever graduate beyond being simply an interesting, but unprovable, idea.
A bit of library research yields a positively enlightening revelation that modern Science, i.e., The Scientific Method, to be the legacy of a legion of dedicated religious scholars/researchers exploring God’s Creation. Isn’t it odd , then, that today’s ‘Science’ has become so thoroughly amoral and divorced of “Religion”.
To further stoke the fires of inquiry, there are almost weekly Scientific discoveries being reported, which, at the very least, provide contemporary support for events recorded in ancient religious texts.

I’m currently on a second reading of “The Return of the God Hypothesis” by Stephen Meyer. his book lays out the evidence that supports God as the creator of the universe and all subsequent lifeforms and the reasons for rejecting materialistic theories such as evolution. And Meyer does it with scientific arguments, mathematics, and statistics. The book strongly backs up what the Bible teaches us.
It is a fine book. I’ve searched and found very few rebuttals from atheists. I would say they have no counter-arguments.
If a person starts with the hypothesis that there is no God, one has to have an explanation of how the universe got here, Evolution is the unsuccessful attempt at this.
If there is no God, and we are just evolved pond scum, our lives have no meaning. People will attempt to find meaning, so they will invent a cause to fight for so that they feel that their life now has meaning. This is one reason the left takes up all these ridiculous causes. They are attempting to find meaning and purpose to their otherwise insignificant lives. Depression and mental illness run rampant through the left for the reason that deep inside they believe their lives are worthless and devoid of meaning and purpose. We see that in the study that showed over 50% of younger liberal women have some sort of diagnosable mental illness. They virtue signal so that others will admire them. They might want to “help” others, but the underlying goal is to make themselves feel better about their own lives and get their reputation elevated in front of others.
If there is no God, there can be no right and wrong. Who are you to tell a leftist he’s wrong? One who takes a stand is just evolved pond scum like the leftist. Lefties are going to have sex with anyone they want, with an attempt at no consequences. If they get pregnant, they just abort it. Why Not? To them life is meaningless. If they don’t like you or your Trump bumper sticker, they’ll vandalize your car to get the sticker off and think they are doing the world a favor. This is one reason there is so much petty assault and vandalism coming from the left, it’s a manifestation of existential unhappiness.

there were some comments above about science being separate from religion
this is from a most intelligent man:

René Descartes invented analytical geometry and and XYZ coordinate system for describing movements in three dimesional space that is currently in use in robotics and bearing his name to this day.
He also proved God in his “Meditations”.
Science and God are not incompatable, even in the same mind.
Science is just precise recognition of God’s order.
@Cynic
I like what you wrote.
(Cynic: No one ever has explained to me how I should respond to the rejoinder “Okay, then, who created God”.)
For most of human history, including when the Old Testament creation stories were written down by scribes in King David’s court, people believed that the sky was a ceiling of some sort, and came up with all kinds of different and wrong hypotheses about why celestial objects moved in the sky. Among other things we now know are incorrect.
We are still very primitive as far as what we actually know and understand.
What is it in human beings that makes us insist on having definitive answers? Many religions come up with mnany different ideas. The holes in evidence are filled with beliefs.
