Justice Department drops campaign finance charge against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried

And no one is surprised.

The Justice Department is dropping a campaign finance charge against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried on an apparent legal technicality involving his extradition in December 2022 from the Bahamas to the United States.

In a filing Wednesday, prosecutors wrote that the Bahamas informed the U.S. government earlier in the day that the Caribbean nation “did not intend to extradite the defendant on the campaign contributions count.”

  1. Hah! Who’d’a thunk it? Lil’ Scammy bought his way into the in crowd. There was a time when the in crowd wouldn’t consider a member of the small hat tribe regardless of how much money he dumped on them. Ask Trump. Not saying Trump’s small hat but there’s that family background thing going on.

He’s a fucking hero as far as our ruling caste is concerned, a model entrepreneur.

  3. it took them 7 months to discover they did something they didn’t ‘intend’ to do?
    BS
they did what they did. There aren’t any ‘do overs’ in this type of thing.
Unless the illegal derived and contributed campaign contributions were run through ukraine and given to who knows who, bahamas included. This is just a massive CYA maneuver.
Their deliberate intention of excluding that specific reason needs to be documented and rationalized, and with documentation that is from the time of the extradition, not from two days ago, when they realized what might be in store for them.
    Our government is corrupt.
    Professionally corrupt.
