Breitbart: Justice Elena Kagan wrote the opinion in the Supreme Court’s decision striking down Mexico’s lawsuit and described AR-15s and AK-47s as “both widely legal and bought by many ordinary consumers.”
Breitbart News reported that SCOTUS pointed to the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) in striking down Mexico’s lawsuit in a unanimous June 5, 2025, decision.
In the opinion, Kagan noted how Mexico tried to point to the way certain guns were marketed and designed in hopes of getting traction with their lawsuit. She explained why the court rejected this approach and while so doing, highlighted how popular and “widely” owned AR-15s, AK-47s, and other similar rifles have become.

What a fucking joke that Mexico is suing us. Our country is dumping ground for them. If this was serious country we would carpet bombed them 40 times over. But it makes the elites richer, so we get to deal with the garbage. Our enemies for last 25 years was never in the Middle East, they were next door. There isn’t a single country that have contributed more to the destruction of America then Mexico.
Kagan, Sotomayor, and especially Brown are completely unqualified to be on SCOTUS.

OK, she may be a little on the chunky side and some may see her nose as being a touch too long, but I’ve always liked her.

No “widely” legal to it – absolutely legal.
IL, NY, MA, CA and the other Nazi states should be made to honor ALL the Amendments to the Constitution, not just the ones with which they agree.
And, just to pick a nit, what’s the difference between and “ordinary” consumer and an “extra-ordinary” consumer?

Kagan is the one lefty jurist who has a brain. The other two are ideologues, and were put on SCOTUS for that very reason, but can’t come up with reasoned arguments for their case. Kagan can at least discuss the law. She still does the Bill Maher thing and votes lefty on critical cases though.

If Mexico was smart they would have sued Obama and Holder over their Fast and Furious program!
Just because she acknowledges a very real fact in no way means she approves of ANY firearms and won’t do everything in her power to disarm ALL of us.
