Breitbart: Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi celebrated their Super Bowl 2020 win by paying adoption fees for every adoptable dog in the city.

  1. I might catch hell for saying this, but here goes. While I truly do applaud this gesture, there are bound to be some unintended consequences. Whenever anyone gets something for “free”, they have no skin in the game. They often act impulsively. “Hey, let’s go get a dog. They’re free!” They are not thinking ahead to the responsibility, work, and expense involved in owning a dog.

    A person who is willing to shell out some of their own money for an adoption fee is probably prepared to also pay for food, vet visits, chew toys, treats, etc. I know that many of these dogs will land in loving homes, but just as many are going home with some fool who will grow tired of them after a week or two then dump them on the side of the road. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m not.
