Kash Patel emerges as a top contender for CIA director

NYPost

Former Department of Defense official Kash Patel is being considered for several national security posts — including CIA director, a key GOP source told The Post on Monday.

Patel, 44, previously served as a National Security Council official, senior adviser to the acting director of national intelligence and chief of staff to the secretary of defense.

While President-elect Donald Trump has not officially arrived a decision about Patel’s final move, there has been “conversations” between the transition team and the former Trump official — with the majority of the discussions in Trump World being focused on the CIA, according to the source.

If he doesn’t lead the CIA, Patel could head the FBI or become the director of National Intelligence, which the source believes he would also accept. more

  1. This one is going to be extra good. He self funded and relied on donations and was very effective, give him the resources and it’s going to go down in history. He has the law firmly on his side, unlike the clowns the Democrats set loose on innocent people

  2. “Patel had been in conversations to be installed as deputy CIA director at the end of Trump’s term, but the head of the agency, Gian Haspel, voiced opposition, threatening to resign…”

Even better. Trump’s appointments will cause agencies to self-purge the woke leftists.

  3. This is bullshit. No fucking way in the world is he up to running the CIA. Are you kidding me???? The CIA is Deep Swamp Central and Kash is going to reign that in??? Good grief.

I can only hope that whoever leaked this is the same asshole that leaked Rubio for SofS.

Are we going to get into that 3D Chess crap again because if these picks are true, this is 2016 all over again.

  4. I’m on the same page as @MMinWA. I don’t believe this story. I strongly suspect it’s leaker bait.

I like Kash P but he’s never run anything in his whole life. Putting him in charge of a very large, very complex, very antagonistic agency would be utterly stupid.

President Trump is NOT STUPID. In fact, he’s EXTREMELY NOT STUPID.

  5. As Rush used to say, right on, right on, right on. Defund and remove all the deep staters and send them packing to federal maximum-security prisons or Gitmo for the worst offenders and some summary executions of the worst of the worst offenders for treason would help tremendously as well.

  6. More troubling that a light weight like Kash as CIA Director(if that’s possible) is Rubio as SofS. Almost every deployed CIA operative has a cover profile within the State Dept. The foreign service missions of the DoS and CIA are so enmeshed there is literally no way to separate the functions of their agencies. [Go back to the Benghazi Attack for an operational reference] CIA/DoS have to be viewed through the prism of connection. Kash might be loyal to Trump but the real problem is…

…for the past 8 years, the Gang of Eight have been briefed on every underhanded, undermining CIA operation(think Libya or Ukraine). And who has been a member of The Gang of Eight for the past 8 years hearing the bullshit the media has been relaying on various schemes and all the while knowing the actual truth & never saying a fucking thing?

Marco Rubio. He knows the CIA has been and will continue to lie to the President. Does anyone honestly think Kash Patel is going to turn that agency around??? He’s going to get played from the inside and Rubio as SofS will play him from the outside.

    IMO disaster selections.

  7. Radcliffe got the nod. I feel much better about that direction.

That being said, after reading the info you linked to BB, Kash, while not the solid I believe Radcliffe is, is pretty close. There were quite a bit of the former positions Kash held that I wasn’t aware of that were impressive.

I still vehemently hope that Rubio is no where near the SofS when the dust settles.

After reviewing some of Rubio’s former actions I totally agree. He’s part of the problem.
Radcliffe is the safe vanilla choice. Not what we need. Having said that, this is Trumps deal. Thank God he got elected and he’s making choices with criteria that we know nothing about.
Pete Hegseth, secretary of defense. Holy crap, no one saw that one coming.
Katie Pavlich made an interesting observation tonight. Trump’s picking loyal people that are familiar with how Washington works but not part of how it works. I trust his judgement. We have to.

  9. I don’t believe Radcliffe is what you’d call a safe vanilla choice, I’ve seen him in quite a few one on ones and he comes across much more forceful than Kash. The info you provided tells me Kash was a worthy consideration and either one will(would’ve) been good.

Coming up, I’ve read that Wray will resign before the inauguration. In my mind there is only one man that is up to the huge task of reforming this once stalwart institution and that is Rep Clay Higgins. Thoughts?

  10. Hegseth is a very good choice but it makes the Waltz pick even stranger. There are things afoot here I’m not getting. Like you said, at this point you have to trust DJT’s judgment.

I’m sure you know your preaching to the choir. That man bleeds red white and blue. I worry picking some of these peeps for Fed jobs leaves a big vacuum in their former responsibilities. Especially with someone like Stefanik. I’m sure DJT takes this into consideration. I hope.
