Kazakhstan Set To Join Abraham Accords in First Expansion of the Agreements Since Trump’s First Term

WFB: Kazakhstan will become the latest nation to join the Trump administration’s historic Abraham Accords later on Thursday, making it the sixth country to sign onto the pact meant to normalize relations between Israel and Muslim-majority nations, a U.S. official confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon.

While Israel and Kazakhstan have enjoyed full diplomatic ties since 1992, the latter’s addition to the Accords presents benefits for both sides. The Trump administration sees an opportunity to spark renewed interest in the Abraham Accords across the Muslim world, according to Axios, which first reported the story. The agreement—struck in 2020 between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco—has not seen any additions since President Donald Trump’s first term, and Thursday’s news could set the stage for more countries to join. Kazakhstan’s decision to enter the Accords also presents Israel with a diplomatic victory after two years of war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza. more

  1. I haven’t been paying much attention to Kazakhstan, so I’m aware of only three noteworthy things about the place.

    — It’s the largest landlocked country on Earth
    — Russia launches space stuff from Baikonur Cosmodrome
    — Easier to spell than neighboring Kyrgyzstan

  2. Kazakhstan is home to the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in Astana which will be home of a “New World Order City”. They are already set up to blend all religions into a single one.

  3. Almaty, formerly known as Alma-Ata, is the largest city in Kazakhstan. It’s the former capital of Kazakhstan. The name means ‘Father of Apples’. Every apple you’ve ever eaten can be traced back to an orchard near the city. All varieties of apples were derived from that single orchard over time. Almaty is a beautiful city known for its European look. Kazakhstan is where horses were first domesticated by humans. The country is a mixture of modern and primitive places. My wife was born and raised in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. It is a large, modern city in the far eastern tip of the country. I knew a lot about Ust-Kamenogorsk when I served in the USAF as it was on the target list of the Strategic Air Command during the Cold War. All of the fuel pellets for the Soviet Union’s nuclear submarine reactors were produced there. The city is a center for tech and metallurgy, along with rare earth mining and processing. My wife goes back to visit her family and friends every few years. It is a pretty safe place to visit. I’ll probably travel there with her within the next two years. It’s twelve time zones from where I live, so it’s a long trip. It’s a good thing that Trump is working with Kazakhstan.
