Seems those precautions should be taken anytime you meet a complete stranger at a place of their choosing.
Personally I wouldn’t even consider dating apps, as I have little trust in strangers.
I agree with fullmetal256 – I am western Canadian and over the last 40-50 years, Canada has gone from a “high trust” country to a “low trust” country.
