BPR: Actress Kirstie Alley fired a shot at democratic socialism while in the middle of a war of words with a former Clinton adviser.
The “Cheers” star locked horns with former Hillary Clinton campaign adviser Peter Daou on Twitter over the topic of money and billionaires, calling him out for seeking attention and denouncing the term “democratic socialist.”
Daou kicked things off when he asked his nearly 283,000 followers for a “good reason one person should have a BILLION dollars.”
Can you give me a good reason one person should have a BILLION dollars??

Not surprisingly, Daou, who recently worked with Sen. Bernie Sanders, was inundated with pushback on Twitter where users schooled him on capitalism. He lashed out after a bit at “right-wingers” who were defending the billionaires.
“Welcome to all the rightwingers defending billionaires because you think they care about you,” he wrote. “Hint: They don’t.”

Hint: They don’t.

THE RIGHTWING VIEW:
“Redistributing wealth down to working people is an assault on liberty, entrepreneurship, and hard work.”
“Redistributing wealth up to billionaires is FREEDOM!!”
In other words: Rightwingers are fine with working people paying for billionaires’ tax cuts.

Alley joined the many voices slamming Daou for his economic ignorance.
Because they created something so fucking marvelous that the whole world wanted it! https://t.co/tzuBOpHI5I

The Democratic strategist came back with another tweet mocking the 68-year-old actress and her views. MORE
What socialists don’t understand: I don’t care if a billionaire cares about me or not. No billionaire I can think of even knows I exist. I would not expect any billionaire to know if I exist or to care about me if he did know.
I take care of my own survival, and need no “caring” or handouts from billionaires or anyone else, except for social security, to which I have paid into for over 50 year.
And, for that matter, billionaires have given huge amounts of money to various causes, so I am sure I have benefitted indirectly in many ways.
Because they earned it! Just like millionaires and those making six, five, and four figure incomes should get to keep most of what they earn
. Everyone has the same opportunity to make money and anything the government promises to give away is really the taxpayers’ money
Socialism is “legalized” theft of productive contributors with the skills to create, build and make something work. That takes brains, guts and sweat. Any asshole can steal!
This. This is the sort of Super Stupid Poison. That communalists can toss in the middle of the mob. With a label that says “Do NOT Drink!” And a big, red skull and crossbones, for the newer, better, citizens. And giggle all the way home. Because haters of communalism will stomp each other for the opportunity to prove how much they can drink.

> Everyone has the same opportunity to make money
I might be Hunter Biden’s daddy. And I approve this message.
What kind of a name is Daou, anyway? Did you or your parents smuggle you across the border to become a socialist agent? How many Daou’s have been deployed to undermine our republic?
Incidentally I think i just pushed out a big stinky daou, and the accompanying sound effect after not crapping for 4 days, just happened to be DAOU!!!
I feel much better now, by the way.
My hat is off, (along with my socks and shorts-if they can stand it), to those that lawfully succeed in life to become MUCH richer than myself.
Mess with Saavik, you get the pointy ears
This half a three dollar bill never produced anything in his life except words, so all the money he’s ever received should be returned, by his own limp wristed standards
People have jobs because of billionaires. If you have a job, thank the person who risked their own money, worked ungodly number of hours and sweat blood to make their companies profitable in order to hire workers. Ask them how many vacations they took as they were building their company.
People can’t imagine what it takes to become rich because they have no drive or desire to be the kind of person with character that it takes to work that hard.
Also, they are the product of our snowflake educational system.
Ahhh…Kirsty Alley is a conservative. This explains why she disappeared from Hollywood for 40 years.
There is something to be said about JOBS here. (I know Joe, itz a three letter word) Rich people employ. I dunno about anybody else, but I never worked for a poor man!!
The people that tell you can’t have a billion are the same ones that can tell you you can’t have a hundred K.
I stumbled on Kristy Alley’s twitter account a couple years ago and started following. She is not STUPID. Very entertaining and seems to drift to the right. Lot’s of fun and she will occasionally answer you back.
My bet is Kirstie’s pov comes from her father being a business owner.
I recall hearing her on some tv show years ago telling the story about how her father owned a lumberyard. In the summer she and a female friend would work at the lumber company. On some days the two of them wore bikinis while unloading lumber off a train car, while having a good laugh about how they were driving the lumberyard workers crazy. I kind of doubt if dad approved.
Speaking of celebrity twitter postings, what has become of James Woods?
Blink, Twitter kicked him off and he gave up trying to fight them. I miss his snark.
